David Taylor: My wife and I were staying in Condado and wanted to have a nice dinner on a Sunday evening. We originally had a reservation for 9:00, then I received a text message from the restaurant, it said something to the effect that to due to some circumstances our reservation time had been changed to 8:15. It wasn't an issue for us, just pointing it out. The service is slow, but helpful, and I've come to expect that in PR. The food is very good, but at this price point, food excellence is expected. We had several starters and the chicharonnes were delicious. The mains were the guiso and fish of the day. The fish of day dish was fantastic and the guiso was okay.
Elizabeth Cruz: So let me start by saying this place was not easy to spot. My family and I were heading to dinner somewhere else and it was closed. I looked on the GPS for a closer restaurant and JEnrique popped up. When we walked there were few tables available. What I liked was that we were a party of 10 without reservations and they accommodated us right away. Food was super good and host was very nice. BTW, do not leave this place without trying their amazing “batata y mojo” By far the best side dish you can ever try. Will definitely come back to this spot when I come back to PR.

CT Deibel: Absolutely stellar dinner, drinks, and dessert! We learned how to make mofongo both a mushroom and shrimp type, and sofritos. She talked about the history of cooking in Puerto Rico, coming from three distinct influences. We learned, we laughed, we drank and we ate. Highly recommend!

Tabatha Valderrama: Chef Nivia catered a lovely birthday dinner for myself and a small group of friends while visiting San Juan for my 40th Birthday/New Year's Eve. The food was authentic, absolutely delicious, and by far the best meal that we had while we were in Puerto Rico! Chef Nivia also shared many historical details with us about the island, the local produce, and the cuisine. Her assistant, Melina, made a beautiful and yummy birthday cake that we all loved very much as well! V V: Chef Nivia was absolutely wonderful. Some of the best food I had while visiting Puerto Rico was made my her and her team. I learned a lot about the culture, the history behind the food we were making, and had so much fun doing it. She took care of everything and the experience was incredible!! Mia Delamar: Came here to celebrate my brother’s birthday. We loved the atmosphere and the quaintness of the Resturant. It was very cozy, simple and relaxing. Our server Jehis was super sweet and made sure that we were taken care of throughout the evening. For appetizers, we had the sliders and hash fried balls which were delicious. For dinner I had the filet mignon with risotto which was incredible and the risotto was just right. Others had the Filet Mignon pasta, Mac n Cheese, NY Strips and Steak Frits. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. They also had great drinks. The Playa passion being a hit for our party and the Summer Love non-alcoholic and alcoholic version was a hit as well. We enjoyed our selves and give hats off to Chef Jason & his staff for an incredible evening, he even dropped by to say hello. We will certainly return. Joyce: The location of the Condado Plaza is excellent! Check-in was super easy, and the gentleman at the front desk did an awesome job of explaining all of the hotel amenities. We had a room with an ocean view and king-size bed. The room was very clean. All of the staff that we encountered were extremely friendly and ready to assist if needed. We used the hotel taxi service to go to Walmart. The driver was super nice because he waited for us to finish. This hotel has two pools. The large pool has a slide, and the saltwater pool is located by the jacuzzi. While sitting poolside enjoying a pina colada, a huge iguana came out of the bushes and just walked around like it owned the place. It didn't bother anyone, and nobody bothered it. I thought that was pretty cool. I rated the hotel 4 stars because there were a couple of things that I noticed. The Condado is one of the older hotels and could use a little TLC. When we walked around the grounds to explore, we noticed chipping paint, rust, and erosion in several areas. One evening, while admiring the view from the balcony, I saw a rat run into the bushes by the back stairwell deck. The next evening, my friend saw a rat by the stairwell near the pool. That was a little unnerving. Other than that, we had a really good stay at this hotel.Habitaciones: I stayed in a room with an ocean view and king-size bed, which was very comfortable. The bathroom was very large with a shower/tub combination, and the room was very clean.Actividades cerca de mi ubicación: There is a night kayaking spot within walking distance of the hotel. We had a blast and even saw a manatee while out on the water.Seguridad: We did a lot of walking while we were there. Both during the day and in the evening. We felt very safe.Posibilidad de caminar: There are lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.Comidas y bebidas: The Aqua Bar and Grill is located by the pool. I ordered wings, quesadillas, and pina coladas. My friend ordered drinks from the hotel lobby bar. We were pleased with everything. The Condado also has a footbridge that connects with the Hilton Garden Inn, where there are two additional restaurants that are available for dining.

Michael Clauss: I went to a conference there. Rooms were okay and the service was good. The little beach was nice and the hotel is close enough to viejo San Juan that you can walk or take a bus/taxi to get there quickly. It's also close enough to some other nice places in the other direction like the art museum, restaurants, and stores.Habitaciones: Very humid and a little mold on stuff, but it's a tropical location so what do you expect.Actividades cerca de mi ubicación: restaurants, museums, stores, historical monuments, forts, colonial city, beaches, scenic vistas, etc.Seguridad: Relatively safe. We had no issues.Posibilidad de caminar: Far, but walkable to Viejo San Juan.Walkable to nearby restaurants, stores, pharmacies and attractions.
Ivette Aguilera: Fui de vacaciones con la familia y fue una estancia increíble. Las vistas eran increíbles, la hospitalidad fue perfecta. Múltiples zonas para relajarse ya sea para un masaje, en la piscina o incluso en una hamaca. El hotel también está cerca de muchas tiendas y restaurantes, por lo que es fácil moverse. Y tienes acceso a la playa y a la arena.

Linda Norton “Goddess Linda”: What an amazing dining experience. Food, staff, atmosphere. Book the reservations. Was recommended by a friend and so grateful we went while visiting the island.Wear comfortable shoes if sitting outside the patio is all small stones, so it makes walking in heels inconvenient.
Alvin Almodovar: As always we were received at the door with warmth welcome. Our waitress was Xavier. To begin, we ordered 2 of the amazing cocktails they have; Cayey a Santurce and Torito y plata. We started with lamb chops with roasted eggplant and yogurt. Amazing! and Yes! This is just an entree. As we previously get the Terrina de remolacha with goat cheese we didn’t order it but is a strong recommendation even for the ones don’t like beets. My wife ordered the fried fish of the day with a caper cream with an amazing fusion of turmeric and anise. Wow, I never thought those flavors are so delicious! I ordered a cazuela of langostinos with swordfish filet in a carrot stew with the house rice that was awesome and I added a touch of the house hot sauce they gave me.To end we can’t decide which dessert we want so we get two, the quesito with passion fruit ice cream and the almond cake with dulce de leche and goat cheese ice cream.We get also 2 more cocktails 😋.Spectacular service.Well deserved award recognition! I think they deserve a Michelin star.

Ladle it into my mouth.Service was perfection and the interior was nice and cool.This was the fifth restaurant we dined at this year that was nominated for 'best chef' in the 2023 James Beard awards. In comparison to the other four, I'm not surprised Chef Natalia Vallejo took home the award for Best Chef South!!
Delaney Russell: If you’re looking for a special experience in San Juan, look no further. Cocina al Fondo was a beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous courtyard. Every staff member was so friendly and the manager came around multiple times to check on us. The food was delicious and unique and the cocktails were great as well. We were celebrating an anniversary and they made the night so special for us and it was easily our best dinner during our 10 day trip to PR.

Sheela Satpute: Perfect spot for a special occasion. Beautiful ambiance and lighting. The service was definitely very kind and accommodating, however would have liked to have each course explained as it was delivered. I felt that it’s possible I got the wrong dessert - it tasted like lemon custard and not the Panna cotta I had ordered. For this price point, I don’t think this is acceptable. The servers tried their hardest to overcome these issues by giving us extra sweets etc. 2 huge high points: the old fashioned cocktail was the best I have ever had. Pasta tasted very fresh and cooked perfectly. Otherwise, I can’t say that the dishes were consistently amazing. Nothing that I would look back on fondly aside from my cocktail.

Priscilla Hasbún: Mi hija y yo cenamos en este restaurante solo teníamos aperitivos, pedimos 5 aperitivos diferentes y cada uno era como una obra de arte y cada uno era más increíble que el anterior, también tomamos el cóctel Magdalena y mi hija comió el cóctel sin alcohol Mock me. ambos fueron increíbles. Definitivamente recomiendo cenar aquí. No puedo esperar a volver cuando visite PR nuevamente. La razón por la que le di 4 estrellas a la atmósfera fue porque la noche que fuimos, había una mesa detrás de nosotros y uno de los caballeros que cenaba era ruidoso, seguía usando malas palabras y tenía una gorra al revés, era obvio que ya había superado su alcohol. Aparte de eso, todo lo demás fue excelente.
Christine Belin (Xtine Xploring): This was the best meal of our 7 day trip! The food was all so delicious from the amazing bread that they brought you to the amazing dessert souffle they cracked and poured chocolate in. I got the pork chop, and everyone was in awe when it came to the table, including the tables surrounding us. It was authentic to Puerto Rico, but elevated and oh so good. The cocktails were artfully & thoughtfully crafted with beautiful garnishes on all from beautiful flowers to yummy cookies. The service was warm and friendly, yet upscale. If you are looking for a cherry on the top of your trip for a meal, this is the spot. Mario Pagan's original concept is 100% worth making a reservation. Don't miss out!
Mila Cardoze: Let me start off letting you know that you definitely need a reservation to eat at this restaurant. The food here is so fresh and delicious! I’ve never had any cocktails made like this. The bartenders are amazing here. They’re entertaining to watch while they make their drinks. The chef food was out of this world I ordered the almond crusted chicken and the Seabass and it was so good. This place is definitely two thumbs up I will be coming back again!
