Kihani Brea: Me alojé aquí dos veces en dos meses por negocios. Fue perfecto porque está cerca de la ciudad y también a unos pasos de la playa. El edificio es una arquitectura muy hermosa y encantadora. El personal es A+++, especialmente Juan, que fue muy acogedor y servicial. No pude usar el área de la piscina/jacuzzi, pero se veía muy limpia y atractiva, tal vez la próxima vez. Tenía un poco de sospecha porque el precio era mucho más bajo que el de otras propiedades y había leído algunas críticas negativas y aterradoras, pero si esas críticas eran ciertas o no, no encontré ninguno de esos problemas en mis dos visitas.En mi primera estadía tuve una habitación con vista al mar y una terraza envolvente por un precio INCREÍBLEMENTE BAJO. Mi segunda estancia fue en una habitación mucho más modesta por un precio más alto, imagínate. Jeff Ramsey: I looked at many Google reviews before our visit. I would like to say thanks for all your help. We met up with friends at Condado Vanderbilt to celebrate our birthdays. Let me say booking thru my AMEX Platinum card was a great deal. Breakfast buffet for two daily. Ends around 11 am daily. The value alone for the buffet for two was $100.00. Plus we were able to check in at Noon, if available. We couldn't as our room wasn't ready. Late check out at 4pm. Plust $125.00 resort credit to use for food or drink. We had a Commodore Ocean Front suite which was very nice. Two balconies. PLUS, we had our own butler. Enma, our butler was FANTASTIC!! He emailed me a few days before our trip letting us know he would be our butler and asked if we needed any help. I asked for him to help us arrange ground transportation to and from airport. NOTE, BAHIA Transportation was nice, etc. but was expensive. $110.00 to the Hotel which was about a 15 min ride. Our driver did not lift one finger to help me with my luggage, which we had two large suitcases and two carry ons. I pulled my back the day before so this wasn't good. I asked Enma after arriving to cancel our ride back and got an UBER Black to take us back at the cost of $24.00. Would recommend UBER Black for transportation. Anyway, back to hotel. The staff was so GREAT!! I mean best staff anywhere we have stayed. We have stayed at many fine hotels, Ritz, Intercontinental, Willard in DC,etc. They didn't have no in their vocabulary. When we celebrated my birthday on a Saturday, my wife reached out to Enma, our butler for help. He set up the room while we were at the pool with a bday cake, balloons, plates for charcuterie board my wife wanted to prepare, 8 champagne glasses, as well as a bottle of champagne on ice!!! I didn't see any charge either on my bill for all this. My wife wanted to tip him specifically for this occasion, so she found him and gave him a tip. Victor, working the entrance area of hotel was spectacular. Made sure to greet me by name every time we entered or left hotel. Paiulo, hostess in buffet was so great in making sure we got what we needed in the restaurant where the buffet was. Amid made spectacular omelets for us at the omelet station. Enma, our butler was very instrumental in checking in during our stay seeing how were were doing via text. Like having your own assistant. He was very helpful giving us ideas on restaurants of what we were looking for, then he would call and make our reservations for us and confirm back to me time, etc. Ropa Vieja was one of our favorites. Tayzan, Chinese, Sushi, and PR food was not great. I would not go back. Serafina, next door to CVH was awesome as well. Great walking distance to Marriott Stellaris Casino. LaConcha Casino didn't do it for us. Highly recommend the walk to Stellaris. Also, there is a market right across the street called H & R Food and Liquors that has a quite a bit of selection of liquor/beer, as well as food items and prepared food such as sandwiches prepackaged. We had a nice sub zero smaller fridge in our room as well as a nice ice maker. Nespresso type machine that uses the pods which were provided. Alto Grando was the pods of choice. The cigar lounge was quite small as I generally sat outside to smoke a cigar once in a while. Tacos and Tequila was good as well. They gave me and my wife both a margarita on the day of my birthday. The pool drinks were awesome. Condado Express was our favorite. Medalla Beer is awesome as well. Low carb with great taste. Airport Duty Free Store sells liquor, beer, and coffee on your way out so you can take home some treasures. Alto Grande coffee was our favorite. Again, CVH was spectacular stay. We want to go back again soon. Knowing what we know now, wouldn't change a thing. Was so relaxing and again, STAFF WAS SPECTACULAR!!!

Guests who want a quiet neighborhood inn with practical accommodation and good folks and good local food will enjoy the Windchimes.Much thanks to Ricardo for assisting us with a family emergency one night during our stay and deep gratitude to Ana for her hospitality.A few tips to guests considering a stay here:1. The staff is fully bilingual, AND you can learn some Spanish phrases to greet these good people and express your good faith as a visitor in their linguistic space. Go ahead. Click on google translate and learn how to say: “Good morning/afternoon/evening” and “Thank you” and “pardon me.” Paying for a room doesn’t mean any of us visitors are entitled to demand an English-only space2. Talk to the staff. Ask how their day is going. We can all show some needed kindness and love these days. Doing so shows that a place to rest is a community space not just a destination3. Ask for what you need. None of the staff can help if we don’t ask. And ask with care and patience4. Enjoy the pool!5. Clean up your messes. It’s a hotel not our mama’s house. We can’t be expecting someone to follow behind us and pick up toys and trash6. Take advantage of the local beach. We were here during the week and it was quiet, uncrowded, and breezy. We visited some of the beaches in fancier areas—none were more beautiful and all were way more crowded than the strip just a short walk away from the Chimes.We’ll definitely be back! Anish D: One of the most relaxed hotels we have had the pleasure to stay. Rob and the staff are friendly and accommodating. The breakfast and brunch are delicious and made fresh everyday. Our room was well furnished with a comfortable bed and a small kitchenette.Only note: the Tiano room is right off the pool so can be noisy when people are hanging out. If you need quiet to sleep, you should reserve another room. However, if you want to be in the center of the action, this is room you want.

Jaci: celebrating our honeymoon, it was important for us to find a safe space for our first time in San Juan. Coqui Del Mar was the BEST part of our trip, and we even tried to move our flight just to stay longer! From the wonderfully hospitable service we received from Rob, to Juan and Izzy making sure we were having a great stay, to other guests offering their support and friendship, we felt like we belonged! James Banks: What an amazing way to enjoy Puerto Rico, whether you’re there for 2 nights or 2 weeks- coqui de mar is a perfect location in a peaceful neighborhood steps from a stunning aquamarine beach and a short Uber or bike ride to so many restaurants and bars. The owners and staff create the most welcoming atmosphere. Music selection by the pool was perfect. Breakfast, brunch and poolside bbq were amazing, Great tasting coffee with a fridge full of different creamer options, they made accommodations for guests who didn’t eat meat and included local favorites in the dishes. The staff was super attentive, keeping all the areas spotless and offering to refresh our towels and tidy the room whenever we needed. The whole place really had a feeling of being home away from home, every guest felt comfortable being themself and making whatever they want of their visit. The recommendations for local lgbt activities made it easy to jump into the local scene and the gay tours that are affiliated with the hotel offered a great balance of exploring the city and nature. Michael Whalen: Great place to stay. I love the themes used for each room. I enjoyed the Red Room and the Sailor Boy Room. Hospitality was impeccable. Other guests were friendly and gracious. I highly recommend the cave tour with Antonio. He is a great guide and very attentive, careful, and informative. I concur with the many, many other 5 start reviews. Coqui is a fun place to stay in San Juan.

It offers 10 rooms ranging from a one bedroom with full kitchen, and smaller hotel sized rooms, all super clean with quirky names and lots of charm! There’s even a great resident dog Coquito that welcomed each guest upon arrival! Coqui Del Mar offers a range of activities throughout the week like naked bbq’s and naked hot tub & pool parties, daily breakfasts and weekend brunches are included!! 20-25 friendly guys staying here before the cruise. If you ever get a chance to go to San Juan, I highly recommend these accommodations! Why stay in a boring hotel when you can be treated like you’re a member of the family!

Every suggestion they gave me that I went to was phenomenal. Plenty of authentic Puerto Rican cuisine nearby, all with excellent food. The tours offered by Antionio were amazing. The entire experience was spot on. I look forward to returning to Coqui del Mar in the very near futures.

The service and professionalism of these two young ladies have us planning to come back with our kids. They anticipated our every need, we didn't have to finish the request, it was already done. Beach chairs, towels were readily available, entertainment and cuisine recommendations were amazing, we visited Zajora twice! The beach is an easy walk and the neighborhood is easy to navigate. Employees move on sometimes but please do all you can to keep these 2 at Tropica, you will forever have business and satisfied guests. See you soon ladies!

Priscilla Hasbún: My daughter and I stayed at this lovely hotel for 9 days, our experience at the hotel was nothing short of incredible. I’m going to start with the wonderful staff and I’m going to name drop ALEX, JESSICA, PEDRO and last but not least XIOMARA. Without these wonderful people Tropica would not be what it is. They made us feel like friends and not like guests just passing through. It’s such a difference when you stay in a small hotel as opposed to staying in a big hotel. The hospitality is warm and more personal. When you visit Puerto Rico it is an amazing experience in and of itself but what makes it more amazing is how you are treated at the place where you reside during your stay. The hotel has a super cozy restaurant with amazing food and drinks and the beach is literally a block away. The rooms are pretty and have all the amenities of a big hotel. Louis Thompson: Great place to vacation at. Roberto was an amazing host. I went a romantic get away with my girlfriend to Puerto Rico, and we absolutely loved staying here. Rooms were small, but we loved it. Very clean and only 2 blocks from the beach. Restaurants are very close by and there is a 24hr walgreens around the corner. Pierre Arsenec: expectation that guests treat the facility like it was your own, and not like you are on the stereotypical careless “spring break”. For example, if you leave permanent dark marks on their white towels, like after wiping your shoes or makeup with the towel, you will be charged for it, according to their written rules. Also, do not stuff the toilet with lots of toilet paper, as it is an old plumbing system and may get clogged. I had no problem with these rules and keeping the well kept room in great shape during my stay. However, if television is important to a guest, the guest may be disappointed. The television service included internet applications and an attached antenna, but the service froze up a few times and it didn't include cable service

Mr. From the Wish: The best guest house in Puerto Rico by far...what a great place , and Roberto is the perfect host on this beautiful island. This guest house is definitely what I recommend to everyone. And I would love to come back here. The guest house is close by al the good restaurants and bars close by calle loiza. Also, within 5 minutes, you are at the beautiful beach ⛱️ 😍 air-conditioning is available in all the rooms! Small fridge so you can store your own drinks cold! Ashley: Our first night we were in room 103, on the first floor located next to the elevator and facing the interior courtyard. The room had a small window to the outside courtyard but the window did not have glass, only a plastic barrier. Unfortunately the room’s location and the window allowed noise in the lobby/elevator to enter our room. For us personally, it was just a bit too noisy. However, we asked if there were any other rooms available and they were able to upgrade us to a suite with a small fee. At first they weren’t sure if this suite would be available but they worked hard to set it up for us so we could switch. They were extremely kind and the new room was much quieter. It had a beautiful terrace and a clean, spacious bathroom. The suite was under the bar but we didn’t hear it at all. Both rooms we stayed in were clean with great air conditioning and fans. The staff were helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again in a suite. The way the employees understood and accommodated us was wonderful and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others! The noise level was a just matter of personal preference and if you like a quieter space, then a suite may be better for you.

Hollie Cost: This quaint hotel off the beaten path in Old San Juan provides visitors with a homey yet pampered experience. The decor and art is exquisite and the staff could not be any kinder or more professional. Everyone was so incredibly helpful, especially after we had a challenging experience with our previous Airbnb. Yvette was particularly gracious as she provided us with the finest dining recommendation we had during our trip and provided our reservation. We will be back!

Rigo Sarellano-Haros (Riggs): Small hotel located in the best place in Old San Juan. From here you can walk anywhere. Entertainment within walking distance. No swimming pool or many amenities. All the services were great every person we encountered at the front desk was so pleasant and courteous, our room was spacious and clean has a mini fridge, 2 tvs , micro and coffee maker.

But once the bars closed it was very peaceful.Bathrooms were spacious with large showers.This hotel also has a great roof top deck and and bar and they serve food. Douglas Short: We stayed three nights before our cruise and was very pleased. Stayed in the terrace suite and it was very spacious, clean and with a large balcony. Loved everything about the Decanter. Such a nice building in the heart of it all, night life and restaurants etc.. The staff made us feel very welcoming and was outstanding. Jessi Medina: This location is amazing. The whole vibe of the Dreamcatcher is top tier. Beautiful rooms, awesome location within walking distance of the beach and plenty of spectacular dining options. The experiences we booked through the Dreamcatcher were also great. We booked a rainforest hike, a massage, and a snorkeling trip and each of them were perfect. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The chefs also make amazing breakfast options if you don't feel like heading into town and getting breakfast.

Michael DiNunzio: The place is located in a gated community but this area is very clean and organized. The surrounding areas is safe like all PR. The beach is 1 min down the street the place gives you chairs and towels. The only issue we had was the AC wasn't working when we got there. They did fix with no problems things do happen. The young lady at night she is very nice and helpful with a great attitude.Parking is on the street so be ready to find a spot. Plenty of restaurants and things to do around this place.Get out of San juan and enjoy the views especially the caves.One thing they do their own trips to the rainforest and Giovanni is the best. He took us through the rivers and we got to do a concert in his vehicle that me and my wife will never forget. Thanks for that experience. Sana Siddiqui: Perfect location in downtown old San Juan - very easy to come back to the room between exploring. The staff is very friendly and always offers drinks, fresh juice and water. Also offered a lot of recommendations around the island for beaches and food. The hotel is pretty secure with a required code for guests to get in. I also like that they communicate very promptly on WhatsApp for anything you need. Had a nice rooftop but no pool. Would still definitely recommend and stay here again. Main thing to know is if you have a car, you’ll have to park in a garage a few blocks away but they provide a voucher to discount it to 20 bucks/day.

Jake Giles: This was such a cool experience! It was in the perfect location for Old San Juan. The front desk was so accommodating and kind. They remembered my name every time I walked by and always offered me drinks. The rooftop had an awesome view. Rooms were small, and the floor was interesting, but those would be my only gripes. It is nice to have a place close to everything because you need to go to your room to shower the sweat off of you from the heat in Puerto Rico. The people that work there understand hospitality and I will be back again in a few months.

Skip Johnson: Nuestras primeras vacaciones gay juntos como pareja fuera del continente provenientes de Nueva Orleans y esta área es como un Barrio Francés más hermoso y menos peligroso. Este hotel fue perfecto como nuestra primera parada, una hospitalidad fuera de este mundo. Barra libre gratuita para los huéspedes las 24 horas, los 7 días de la semana, lo que ayuda a jugar antes y ahorrar un par de monedas. El personal también es muy amigable con LGBTQ.Habitaciones: Las habitaciones son muy encantadoras y mantienen ese atractivo del viejo mundo, pero están actualizadas y funcionan con comodidades modernas. Rara vez duermo en camas de hotel y dormí en ésta.Actividades cerca de mi ubicación: A poca distancia de restaurantes y del fuerte.Seguridad: Apto para homosexuales/apto para LGBTQPosibilidad de caminar: El único inconveniente para mí fue que necesitaba una cirugía de reemplazo doble de cadera y no había ascensor, por lo que fue agotador, pero no me importó porque todo lo demás lo compensó. Pero pensé en mencionarlo para otras personas con discapacidades.

Yecenia: Es una habitación un poco pequeña pero tienes lo que necesitas junto con una ventana de balcón. Habitaciones limpias y agua tibia para ducharse. El desagüe de nuestra ducha tardó un minuto en salir el agua, pero en general estuvo bien. Impresionante azotea, con grandes bañeras de ducha blancas para relajarse. La barra libre fue increíble y el servicio que brindaron fue excelente.Posibilidad de caminar: Definitivamente puedes caminar a la mayoría de los lugares del Viejo San Juan. La caminata más larga es de unos 15 minutos hasta el Castillo San Felipe del Morro. No hay estacionamiento para autos en el hotel, pero creo que se puede estacionar a unas cuadras de distancia. Puedes explorar el Viejo San Juan en unos dos días. Uno si estás decidido.

Greg: Me alojé en El Colonial la segunda semana de junio de 2024. Esta fue la segunda vez que nos hospedamos aquí. La última vez fue en julio de 2022 y este lugar estaba impecable.En esta estancia, como la última vez, el personal fue increíble. En mi opinión, el personal y la barra libre son lo mejor de El Colonial. Cada vez que pases por el vestíbulo, uno de los miembros del personal te ofrecerá algo del bar. Agua embotellada, refrescos o cóctel gratis. Esto supone un buen ahorro de dinero para el cliente.En ambas ocasiones tuvimos una habitación que daba al callejón adyacente. Puede ser ruidoso, pero las grandes puertas francesas que daban al balcón eran agradables. La habitación es pequeña, con hermosos suelos de baldosas antiguas. ¡No se permiten niños, también es muy atractivo!Desafortunadamente, esta vez los niveles de mantenimiento parecen haber sido más bajos, bastante más bajos, que la última vez que estuvimos. Los pisos necesitaban una buena limpieza, las sábanas estaban peladas, la pared tenía pintura descascarada desde donde la unidad de aire acondicionado había estado goteando. El baño renovado es pequeño, con lo que yo consideraría materiales de calidad promedio y mano de obra por debajo del promedio. Hay un aviso encima del papel higiénico que dice "No se permite papel en el baño. Utilice el bote de basura". Por lo que he oído, esto no parece ser tan raro. No se publicó tal aviso la última vez que estuvimos aquí.La primera vez que nos quedamos, nos registraron a través de una tableta mientras el personal nos preparaba cócteles. Esta vez tuvimos que llenar papeleo.En general, fue una buena estancia, pero el desgaste de este hotel está empezando a notarse. ¿Me quedaría aquí en nuestro próximo viaje en otoño? No estoy seguro, revisaremos otros lugares y tal vez usemos El Colonial como nuestro plan de respaldo.

Realmente me encantaron los azulejos antiguos de las habitaciones y también todos los toques modernos y bien pensados. Tenga en cuenta que este edificio no tiene ascensor, aunque el personal se apresura a llevar sus maletas a su habitación para que usted no tenga que hacerlo. Lo único negativo es que estaba lloviendo mientras estuve allí y el techo goteaba por todas partes. Suelos muy resbaladizos. Ok, aquí está la difícil. Las habitaciones, principalmente las de la puerta, no están insonorizadas. Digamos que mi compañera era muy ruidosa a veces. Los invitados vecinos, principalmente los chicos, me daban accesorios al día siguiente 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣. Disfrute de las relaciones públicas. Este lugar es más costoso de lo que esperaba, pero estás pagando por la ubicación y el servicio. No hay ascensor ni aparcamiento conveniente. El estacionamiento está a unas 2 cuadras de distancia.
