Michael Clauss: I went to a conference there. Rooms were okay and the service was good. The little beach was nice and the hotel is close enough to viejo San Juan that you can walk or take a bus/taxi to get there quickly. It's also close enough to some other nice places in the other direction like the art museum, restaurants, and stores.Habitaciones: Very humid and a little mold on stuff, but it's a tropical location so what do you expect.Actividades cerca de mi ubicación: restaurants, museums, stores, historical monuments, forts, colonial city, beaches, scenic vistas, etc.Seguridad: Relatively safe. The pool staff was great - providing treats to guests while they enjoyed the pool. Breakfast buffet was great. In room amenities are great. All around a great place to stay and have a break from real life.

Jeff Ramsey: I looked at many Google reviews before our visit. I would like to say thanks for all your help. We met up with friends at Condado Vanderbilt to celebrate our birthdays. Let me say booking thru my AMEX Platinum card was a great deal. Breakfast buffet for two daily. Ends around 11 am daily. The value alone for the buffet for two was $100.00. Plus we were able to check in at Noon, if available. We couldn't as our room wasn't ready. Late check out at 4pm. Plust $125.00 resort credit to use for food or drink. We had a Commodore Ocean Front suite which was very nice. Two balconies. PLUS, we had our own butler. Enma, our butler was FANTASTIC!! He emailed me a few days before our trip letting us know he would be our butler and asked if we needed any help. I asked for him to help us arrange ground transportation to and from airport. NOTE, BAHIA Transportation was nice, etc. but was expensive. $110.00 to the Hotel which was about a 15 min ride. Our driver did not lift one finger to help me with my luggage, which we had two large suitcases and two carry ons. I pulled my back the day before so this wasn't good. I asked Enma after arriving to cancel our ride back and got an UBER Black to take us back at the cost of $24.00. Would recommend UBER Black for transportation. Anyway, back to hotel. The staff was so GREAT!! I mean best staff anywhere we have stayed. We have stayed at many fine hotels, Ritz, Intercontinental, Willard in DC,etc. They didn't have no in their vocabulary. When we celebrated my birthday on a Saturday, my wife reached out to Enma, our butler for help. He set up the room while we were at the pool with a bday cake, balloons, plates for charcuterie board my wife wanted to prepare, 8 champagne glasses, as well as a bottle of champagne on ice!!! I didn't see any charge either on my bill for all this. My wife wanted to tip him specifically for this occasion, so she found him and gave him a tip. Victor, working the entrance area of hotel was spectacular. Made sure to greet me by name every time we entered or left hotel. Paiulo, hostess in buffet was so great in making sure we got what we needed in the restaurant where the buffet was. Amid made spectacular omelets for us at the omelet station. Enma, our butler was very instrumental in checking in during our stay seeing how were were doing via text. Like having your own assistant. He was very helpful giving us ideas on restaurants of what we were looking for, then he would call and make our reservations for us and confirm back to me time, etc. Ropa Vieja was one of our favorites. Tayzan, Chinese, Sushi, and PR food was not great. I would not go back. Serafina, next door to CVH was awesome as well. Great walking distance to Marriott Stellaris Casino. LaConcha Casino didn't do it for us. Highly recommend the walk to Stellaris. Also, there is a market right across the street called H & R Food and Liquors that has a quite a bit of selection of liquor/beer, as well as food items and prepared food such as sandwiches prepackaged. We had a nice sub zero smaller fridge in our room as well as a nice ice maker. Nespresso type machine that uses the pods which were provided. Alto Grando was the pods of choice. The cigar lounge was quite small as I generally sat outside to smoke a cigar once in a while. Tacos and Tequila was good as well. They gave me and my wife both a margarita on the day of my birthday. The pool drinks were awesome. Condado Express was our favorite. Medalla Beer is awesome as well. Low carb with great taste. Airport Duty Free Store sells liquor, beer, and coffee on your way out so you can take home some treasures. Alto Grande coffee was our favorite. Again, CVH was spectacular stay. We want to go back again soon. Knowing what we know now, wouldn't change a thing. Was so relaxing and again, STAFF WAS SPECTACULAR!!!

She was so sweet and kind. Olga did all she could to make us feel comfortable and at home. We were very blessed to have amazing people taking care of us. Mara, another staff member took care of us like family. This was our kids’ first time in Puerto Rico. They will have these wonderful memories forever.

Madeleine San Martin: My husband and I come to Puerto Rico once a year, and we always make sure to book a day pass for a seaside cabana at the Fairmont el San Juan hotel pool. Today, we had Jorge Juan taking care of us at our cabana and the service was absolutely amazing! He made sure we had everything we needed throughout our 6 hour stay. He was super kind and communicative, and he helped to make our day a great one! Thank you Jorge Juan!

Lisa Quach: Stayed in Room 1111 mid-July. The room had 2 double beds. Bathroom tub could use an upgrade but everything else was clean. The balcony was private and the oceanfront room had an amazing view. Housekeeping came everyday:For elite members, you can go next to the lobby to get water, soda, chips during the day from concierge. You can choose between points or breakfast coupon… the coupon is for the buffet at the restaurant next to the pool area. There is an omelet bar, fruits, meats & cheese, pastries, bacon, sausage, quinoa, scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, and some other things… it’s not like an all-inclusive resort breakfast but it was not bad at all. Included mimosas. On Friday night, there was also a cocktail hour event for elite members in the lobby/bar. They provided small items as sliders and desserts. Parking for elite members is also reduced. The valet parking guys are soooo nice!They have a schedule of events such as movie night or s’mores…The staff was wonderful. They gave me a small bottle of wine in a gift bag when I mentioned it was my birthday.The casino bar is open until 3am and Angel is one of the best bartenders ever. Makes a really good Miami Vice too! They will give you $30 “match” coupon… go to service desk and they’ll give you what looks like Monopoly money and you can use with your cash to make a bet… gotta spend money to make money.Location: nearby restaurants… there’s a variety within walking distance… for late night, dulce la vida and the spot next door is open until 4am… there is also a Walgreens and 24hour store next the hotel so you can always buy what you need… including liquor. They stop selling liquor at 2am!There are people on the beach to set up chairs for you. You can order food and they’ll bring it to you. Card or Room charge only. There’s also a guy who sells these pineapple slush things inside a pineapple, it’s $20 with liquor and completely worth it!!!Would only stay here if I came back to PR.

Celebrando 30 años con mi Hermosa Reina, pasamos un tiempo fabuloso, el SVC fue excelente, el acceso a la playa fue increíble con protección de seguridad, lo cual fue bueno ver que tenían todas las comodidades que se publicaron... Solo 1 inconveniente Registro RETRASADO . Pero definitivamente volveremos a visitarlo.

Brandon Cleaver: Outstanding experience. The staff was completely awesome. There were a few minor things that came up. But was well overlooked. I wish I remembered everyone’s name who helped. My only complaint was eating outside for breakfast, was a bad experience especially for the price, but they have a bakery inside which I do recommend. They gave us an oceanfront upgrade. That was very much appreciated. Overall amazing experience. One thing that is undeniable was the housekeeping service was outstanding. Absolute kudos to the housekeeping team. The hotel felt very clean and safe!

itsalljones: This is a great place.. Location was wonderful .. right on the beach.. beautiful views.. Service was as expected.. and the beds were very comfortable.. I had difficulty with the in room coffee pot.. and was a little disappointed that the balcony didn't have room for a chair.. and we parked in a lot across the street . We used some reward points to pay for 3 day stay.. So the minor inconveniences weren't a big deal.. Though, if I had paid the regular price with cash, I might have been a little ticked, lol . Otherwise, it's a great place and you won't be disappointed.Seguridad: Was concerned about parking across street, but had no issues.. and didn't feel at all uncomfortablePosibilidad de caminar: Really in the middle of everything.. you can easily walk down the beach, and back up the streets.. J Roland: This hotel is great for a girls trip, a romantic getaway, or even for a family trip. The hotel is situated close to several convenience, stores and chain restaurants. The pool is large and has several shaded areas and the beach offers, complementary chair and umbrellas for guest as they arrive. The food at the bar and at the on-site restaurant may not be the best you’ll get in San Juan, but it’ll do the job before you head out to get some of the local fare!

Katherine VM: I stayed at the Royal Sonesta, San Juan in late July of 2024. It was the best hotel experience I had in Puerto Rico. The room was spectacular, clean, comfortable, and an amazing view. They thought of everything. From the beach to the parking, everyone was super helpful, friendly and accommodating. The pictures don’t do it justice. You can stay on the premises and have a great vacation but it is such a beautiful island 🏝️ you have to venture out. The area is lively, plenty of attractions nearby and the airport is close so no worries there. I give it a 10/10,. would do it again. and again.Habitaciones: The rooms have city or ocean view. They are roomy, and have a refrigerator in them. The showers have rainfall shower and the decor is up to date. The beds are comfortable and it seems quiet, I didn’t hear my neighbors at all. The decor is modern and up date. It is a luxurious place.Actividades cerca de mi ubicación: Fajardo is where you can take a ferry to the nearby islands such as Culebra and Vieques. Definitely worth booking in advance. It’s an amazing experience. Also check Indian caves, all these activities are doable on your own but better with a guide.Seguridad: I saw police patrolling the area regularly, there is a presence. I felt safe walking and driving around.Posibilidad de caminar: Walking distance to some great authentic restaurants and bars, pharmacies and souvenir shops.

Victor-Luke Agbeibor: . We went on a Friday and it was packed - which was to be expected. The Casino is a typical casino. It is open 24hrs. Their goal is to keep you in there as long as possible. They do this in part by offering unlimited free drinks to anyone playing. It should be noted if you play blackjack the style is non traditional in terms of the way the dealer deals out the cards

Nicole Gagne: Nuestro vuelo fue cancelado, así que reservamos pasar la noche aquí. Un inconveniente fue que el aire acondicionado del vestíbulo no funcionaba. Las habitaciones no tuvieron ningún problema, ¡gracias a Dios! El personal fue agradable. Lado positivo. Ofrecen, cuando están disponibles, una salida tardía a las 5:00 p. m. Esta fue una buena opción para nosotros ya que teníamos un vuelo a las 10 pm desde Puerto Rico a casa en Orlando.

MeganKalen Ladnier: Due to the unfortunate events happening with the airlines, we ended up stuck in San Juan for 3 extra days. Delta only provided us with one night stay at Double Tree. After arriving at the hotel, we were told Delta never contacted the hotel to verify rooms for myself and the 4 other people with me. The lack of communication and accommodation from Delta was so disappointing BUT Double Tree did not allow us to be stranded for 3 days with no room. Stephanie and Gadiel at the front desk went above and beyond for us and made sure the 5 of us had rooms for the entire 3 days we are stuck here, covered by Delta. We could not have asked for better customer service. The rooms are great, pool area is beautiful and clean, Pablo is an excellent bartender, everything is top tier. Highly recommend staying here!

Better Reality Coaching: Great hotel and great experience. Only a few minutes from the airport. The hotel is exit 2b and the airport is exit 8. It’s conveniently located to many amenities and the beach. I would be remiss if I didn’t say the walls are paper thin, I heard the microwave from the other one. Any issues I had, had nothing to do with the staff. So overall, I enjoyed everything about my hotel experience from my first encounter with Bryan to the last encounter with the staff at the restaurant. Everyone was very friendly, hospitable, and accommodating. Next time I am in PR, this will be my hotel of choice.

Sana Siddiqui: Perfect location in downtown old San Juan - very easy to come back to the room between exploring. The staff is very friendly and always offers drinks, fresh juice and water. Also offered a lot of recommendations around the island for beaches and food. The hotel is pretty secure with a required code for guests to get in. I also like that they communicate very promptly on WhatsApp for anything you need. Had a nice rooftop but no pool. Would still definitely recommend and stay here again. Main thing to know is if you have a car, you’ll have to park in a garage a few blocks away but they provide a voucher to discount it to 20 bucks/day.

Jake Giles: This was such a cool experience! It was in the perfect location for Old San Juan. The front desk was so accommodating and kind. They remembered my name every time I walked by and always offered me drinks. The rooftop had an awesome view. Rooms were small, and the floor was interesting, but those would be my only gripes. It is nice to have a place close to everything because you need to go to your room to shower the sweat off of you from the heat in Puerto Rico. The people that work there understand hospitality and I will be back again in a few months.

Skip Johnson: Nuestras primeras vacaciones gay juntos como pareja fuera del continente provenientes de Nueva Orleans y esta área es como un Barrio Francés más hermoso y menos peligroso. Este hotel fue perfecto como nuestra primera parada, una hospitalidad fuera de este mundo. Barra libre gratuita para los huéspedes las 24 horas, los 7 días de la semana, lo que ayuda a jugar antes y ahorrar un par de monedas. El personal también es muy amigable con LGBTQ.Habitaciones: Las habitaciones son muy encantadoras y mantienen ese atractivo del viejo mundo, pero están actualizadas y funcionan con comodidades modernas. Rara vez duermo en camas de hotel y dormí en ésta.Actividades cerca de mi ubicación: A poca distancia de restaurantes y del fuerte.Seguridad: Apto para homosexuales/apto para LGBTQPosibilidad de caminar: El único inconveniente para mí fue que necesitaba una cirugía de reemplazo doble de cadera y no había ascensor, por lo que fue agotador, pero no me importó porque todo lo demás lo compensó. Pero pensé en mencionarlo para otras personas con discapacidades.

Yecenia: Es una habitación un poco pequeña pero tienes lo que necesitas junto con una ventana de balcón. Habitaciones limpias y agua tibia para ducharse. El desagüe de nuestra ducha tardó un minuto en salir el agua, pero en general estuvo bien. Impresionante azotea, con grandes bañeras de ducha blancas para relajarse. La barra libre fue increíble y el servicio que brindaron fue excelente.Posibilidad de caminar: Definitivamente puedes caminar a la mayoría de los lugares del Viejo San Juan. La caminata más larga es de unos 15 minutos hasta el Castillo San Felipe del Morro. No hay estacionamiento para autos en el hotel, pero creo que se puede estacionar a unas cuadras de distancia. Greg: Me alojé en El Colonial la segunda semana de junio de 2024. Esta fue la segunda vez que nos hospedamos aquí. La última vez fue en julio de 2022 y este lugar estaba impecable.En esta estancia, como la última vez, el personal fue increíble. En mi opinión, el personal y la barra libre son lo mejor de El Colonial. Cada vez que pases por el vestíbulo, uno de los miembros del personal te ofrecerá algo del bar. Agua embotellada, refrescos o cóctel gratis. Esto supone un buen ahorro de dinero para el cliente.En ambas ocasiones tuvimos una habitación que daba al callejón adyacente. Puede ser ruidoso, pero las grandes puertas francesas que daban al balcón eran agradables. La habitación es pequeña, con hermosos suelos de baldosas antiguas. ¡No se permiten niños, también es muy atractivo!Desafortunadamente, esta vez los niveles de mantenimiento parecen haber sido más bajos, bastante más bajos, que la última vez que estuvimos. Los pisos necesitaban una buena limpieza, las sábanas estaban peladas, la pared tenía pintura descascarada desde donde la unidad de aire acondicionado había estado goteando. El baño renovado es pequeño, con lo que yo consideraría materiales de calidad promedio y mano de obra por debajo del promedio. Hay un aviso encima del papel higiénico que dice "No se permite papel en el baño. Utilice el bote de basura". Por lo que he oído, esto no parece ser tan raro. No se publicó tal aviso la última vez que estuvimos aquí.La primera vez que nos quedamos, nos registraron a través de una tableta mientras el personal nos preparaba cócteles. Esta vez tuvimos que llenar papeleo.En general, fue una buena estancia, pero el desgaste de este hotel está empezando a notarse. ¿Me quedaría aquí en nuestro próximo viaje en otoño? No estoy seguro, revisaremos otros lugares y tal vez usemos El Colonial como nuestro plan de respaldo.

Alyssa, waywardblog: ¡Qué hallazgo tan maravilloso en el corazón de la ciudad vieja! El servicio fue impecable de principio a fin y las comodidades son inmejorables. Realmente me encantaron los azulejos antiguos de las habitaciones y también todos los toques modernos y bien pensados. Tenga en cuenta que este edificio no tiene ascensor, aunque el personal se apresura a llevar sus maletas a su habitación para que usted no tenga que hacerlo. Ojalá tuviera más que una simple noche aquí, porque es una joya.

H Ready: El hotel antiguo es bonito. Buena ubicación, el personal es increíble y muy cortés. Me registré y me recibieron con una botella de vino. No te quedas en elEncimera. Siéntate, disfruta de tu vino y ellos vienen a ti con un iPad para registrarte. Cerca de vistas muy bonitas. Hermosas vistas desde la azotea del viejo San Juan. Lo único negativo es que estaba lloviendo mientras estuve allí y el techo goteaba por todas partes. Suelos muy resbaladizos. Ok, aquí está la difícil. Las habitaciones, principalmente las de la puerta, no están insonorizadas. Digamos que mi compañera era muy ruidosa a veces. Los invitados vecinos, principalmente los chicos, me daban accesorios al día siguiente 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣. Disfrute de las relaciones públicas. Este lugar es más costoso de lo que esperaba, pero estás pagando por la ubicación y el servicio. No hay ascensor ni aparcamiento conveniente. El estacionamiento está a unas 2 cuadras de distancia.
