Vincent L.: Got the private double room on the ground floor for a two night stay in San Juan. There's a bed, there's a WORKING air conditioner, there's a toilet, sink and shower. Not glamorous, but clean and it's half the price of the cheapest hotel. Besides, all rooms look the same when your eyes are closed, right?Great location, far enough from the tourist hubs to have reasonable prices, but close enough to walk, cheap Uber, or scooter-share to any of the neat stuff you're actually here to visit.PS. No bugs of any kind observed, but c'mon, anyone who's lived in Fla. or south Ga. knows roaches are a fact of life in the tropics. Get over yourself!PPS The hostel is not haunted. The figure in the picture is my Magic Eraser wife, who does not wish to apart.

Nick Wilder: this Hostel is safer route, than most weekly rentals.Seguridad: Backpacking, through Puerto Rico I stayed in a weekly rental

Michael Laguardia: Great location 👌 friendly staff rooms need a little care. But you're in the middle of everything. I will stay again once I come back. Theirs a cute bar right in front that is cool and cheap. Walk to the beach is nice 👌 be open-minded and your be fine.Habitaciones: You get what you pay for

Sam: was very helpful and amazing, and I believe its owned by her and her parter,, BIPOC businesses FTW, nome of that american corporations and gentrification,, and the room we shared was comfortable, with light sheets and towels provided for every bed. The man upstairs from us was arrested by the FBI in front of me, and it was really scary, but I dont blame the hostel people for that. Stay here, and leave a nice tip, these people deserve it.

Sherif Azmy: The hostel is located in a very nice neighborhood with a lot of food places and cafes around. There is a bar right across the street which has good drinks and vibes. The staff is absolutely amazing and extremely helpful and friendly, with a lot of good recommendations of things to do and places to go. It is a very social hostel, I travelled solo and I met so many great people and made amazing memories. The hostel also organizes outings every night almost to get you to explore the city and bond with the other people staying in the hostel. Great vibes all across the board

Emily Adams: I had a wonderful experience at this hostel! The rooms have their own bathroom, the staff are excellent, there is a very nice rooftop hangout area with hammocks and a great view, and it’s super social! I hadn’t even finished checking in when a group walked by and asked if I wanted to go to dinner with them and I made friends with every person staying there at the same time as me. They also organize activities and tours such as trips to el yunque and salsa dance lessons. Truly a great safe and fun way to experience San Juan.Actividades cerca de mi ubicación: Within walking distance of a beach and the food park, a short drive from many beaches, guided tours, and night life options such as old San Juan and district t mobile.Seguridad: Felt completely very safe walking around, because there is a bar on the street there are always lots of people around until late in the night so if you’re alone you don’t have to worry about walking alone. Additionally since it’s a very social hostel many people will be willing to go somewhere with you so you don’t have to go alone. I felt safe walking the nearby streets alone.Posibilidad de caminar: Easy to identify for Ubers. Within walking distance of multiple restaurants, the fruit market, a beach, and a gas station.Detalles destacados: The staff are so friendly and inviting and want to help you whether that be with making you more comfortable or offering activity/restaurant ideas. Tasha welcomed me right away and made me feel at home, checked in on me throughout the week, and even hung out with us and showed us cool spots around.

Jennifer Duffraine: To start off, I loved this hostel. It was my first time being at one and this place made me want to come back when I visit. My room was clean and kept, no one bothered me. The staff is nice, Erica was very helpful I really appreciate her! I couldn’t even complain about this stay everything was good about it. The Ubers were cheap to get around everything is like 5-15 mins to get to. Some places are walking distance, it was safe to walk around and great atmosphere. The rooftop is beautiful. I’ll add a video, I’ll stay here again when I visit.

Que Le: The location is convenient. There is a 24/7 supermarket

Mia Vittimberga: Self-check in was easy, and the place was clean and well-decorated. Didn't really run into any issues. The shower handle was broken and the water was cold, but that's it.Great location - walking distance from beach, food, and groceries.

Mel: .I have stayed in other hostels where I had to pay to use a locker and purchase the lock & key myself but Santurcia provides it all for FREEActividades cerca de mi ubicación: MuseumBeachBook storeCoffee shopsWalmartWalgreensSeguridad: Very SafePosibilidad de caminar: Getting to the beach is 10 mins walkFresh local market and tons of local restaurants, bars and other activities within walking distance.Comidas y bebidas: Local restaurants and bars all within walking distance.A couple of restaurants and bars are across the street from the hostel.

Kevin Chin: Very friendly staff, great location and kept quite clean. The 16 person dorm was surprisingly easy to sleep in. Beds offer privacy, but lack charging outlets. Brought a power bank to remedy this. Plenty of other outlets throughout the hostel though. The rooftop was a great spot to get some fresh air and view of the city and the kitchen is well equipped.

Jack McGovern: . Weekend nights can be a little noisy until very late, but I see that as a plus!

Jah Grey: EDIT: December, 20, 2024I got staph infection from staying here! I thought they were mosquito bites but I was mistaken. Now on antibiotics for the week.Overall, I felt that my stay at the hostel was worth the $30 per day that I paid for the week. Here is a breakdown of my experience:ROOMMATES: I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and welcoming my roommates were. It made me feel at ease, especially since it was my first time sleeping in a room with 16 strangers. Room was really great a night and I found it to be pretty quiet besides people partying outside of the Hostel. However, I did find it a bit strange that there were cleaning volunteers bunking with us in the room. Ideally, I believe that volunteers should have their own separate accommodations to avoid any potential discomfort for the guests. Additionally, there was an older male cleaning volunteer who made some people uncomfortable by being overly interactive with younger girls. This behaviour definitely impacted the overall atmosphere of the space and I was hearing that this was making a few women feel uncomfortable unfortunately.AMENITIES: I was provided with a comfortable bed, complete with a blanket, pillow, and towel. Despite the open layout of the bunks, I felt that they offered a decent level of privacy. However, I did find the beds to be a bit small in length, as my feet would hang over the edge. One major inconvenience was the limited number of outlets in the room. With only three outlets shared between 16 people, it was challenging to charge devices, especially if you wanted to use them in bed. I would recommend bringing a portable charger to alleviate this issue. The bathroom situation was not ideal, as there was only one bathroom for all 16 people in the room. Although there was an additional bathroom down the hallway with two showers, two private toilets, and two sinks, it was inconvenient to have to carry all your belongings over there. In addition to this, the showers barley had hot water which sucked. The kitchen facilities were great, and I didn't have any issues apart from sharing the fridge. It was quite full, making it difficult to find space for my own items. Additionally, labeling your belongings was necessary to ensure they weren't mistakenly taken by others. Additionally, there was a leak in the kitchen ceiling, which was quite inconvenient. One major downside was the amount of mosquitoes in the hostel. There were significantly more mosquitoes inside than outside, and I ended up with over 10 mosquito bites. In terms of cleanliness, the hostel was generally well-maintained and pretty clean considering it was shared accommodations.SERVICE: Upon my arrival, I experienced difficulty in locating the Hostel and phoned the number available on the website for guidance. A gentleman answered and assured me that someone would be present at the entrance to welcome me. Unfortunately, no one arrived. I managed to enter the Hostel when a fellow guest exited to smoke. Inside, I noticed that there were no service workers available. After asking another person, eventually, the older guy, who was a volunteer cleaner provided me with a brief tour and the keys to the hostel and locker. One negative experience I had was when a fellow guest in the upper bunk left and threw his dirty towel on my bed. I found this to be extremely rude and unhygienic. Unfortunately, I had to guess which towel was mine, as I would have had to pay an additional $20 for a new one. It would have been appropriate if the hostel had changed my sheets and provided a new towel at no cost due to this inconvenience and it not being a mistake on my end.Another issue I encountered was with the key cards. They stopped working after a certain time, and since there weren't any on-site workers, it was possible to get trapped outside at late hours.AREA: The location of the hostel was amazing, as it was within walking distance to beaches, restaurants, grocery stores, and pharmacies. I felt extremely safe in the area.

Solene Guilliot: , you barely see personal, some small addition like plugs and small lights close to the bed would be a great addition.Habitaciones: Main dorm is not super well equipped

Tanika L: Mango Mansion in San Juan is truly a hidden gem! This was my second stay, and I loved it even more. The staff is down-to-earth, friendly, and incredibly easy to talk to, with Melissa making the check-in process one of the smoothest I’ve experienced in my travels. They go out of their way to ensure everyone feels welcome and offer excellent suggestions for excursions. No matter what you’re looking for during your travels, Mango Mansion makes it accessible. The location is perfect—just 11 minutes from the airport, making it a quick and affordable Uber ride. There’s a large grocery store only 8 minutes away, with everything you need: food, medicine, toiletries, and a cafeteria with a hot foods bar serving delicious Puerto Rican foods.Though bunking with strangers can be intimidating, I quickly made friends both times I visited, some of whom I still stay in touch with. It’s also just a 10-minute walk to the beach for relaxation or the nightlife for live salsa. When my friend and I requested a room upgrade for a bit more privacy, Alex promptly accommodated us. I'm so grateful for the unique experience, and I can’t wait to stay again!

Raza Mian: This was my first solo trip along with first time staying at a hostel. I had a great experience, the hosts were very accommodating during my stay and made sure I was comfortable. They provided great recommendations and I even had a night out with them, which was so much fun. The hostel is located at a convenient location, with easy access to restaurants , nightlife and other the beach. The living spaces were kept clean along with bathrooms. I met quite alot of other solo travelers and had friends to hang out with during my stay. My only complaint is, I really wish they had an air conditioned common space to socialize in. The heat was real in Puerto rico, so often times no one wanted to hang out in common areas and instead went to their air conditioned rooms. Other than that, it was a great experience and I’ll definitely be back!

Jackie Rivera: Mango Mansion is a family. From the beginning I was greeted as a member, the guests and staff all included/added me to their plans and made me feel at home. The staff is top elite, they go above and beyond for you, they want you to feel welcomed, comfortable and happy. I truly had a phenomenal experience in Puerto Rico all thanks to MM, their guests and hospitality. I highly recommend this place, it’s amazing for solo travelers. The beach, stores, sightseeing places and the placita are all within walking distance. Perfect location! I didn’t want to leave but I will return. Thank you Mango Mansion for everything, you will always be appreciated and loved.

Nuvi Cruz: , the beachSeguridad: No trouble at all, MM was secured by gate.Posibilidad de caminar: Restaurants, bars just walking distance from MMComidas y bebidas: Great restaurants near by just walking distance

Nayrovis Alicea: Definitely enjoyed having a place to check out from my work trip. The pool and ambiance of this location is very artistic and beautiful. Definitely will stay here again. First time staying in a place like this. Let’s keep this place safe and clean by healing each other out. I left my bug spray for anyone who needs it when you got to the beach either dusk or dawn.Habitaciones: If you are a shareable clean individual this will work.

Nick Roberts: . However, you will be greeted by a friendly and very helpful staff that know a lot about the area. The atmosphere is very laid back and safe, code to enter the stairway from the street and key to unlock the main door so no need to worry. The location is amazing and the views from the balcony in the room can't be beat. If you're looking for an authentic, adventurous stay in Old San Juan, I'd definitely recommend this place.

Joel Meier: Habitaciones: I loved my room! Small which is perfect for me, a solo traveler who only uses the room to sleep. Very cozy, quiet, and comfortable. The ceiling fan kept the room at a perfect temperature with a nice calm breeze. The bed was very comfortable, as a matter of fact, I fell asleep within 10 minutes of my arrival - it was that comfortable. The hosts, Eddie and Charlie, should be given an award for hospitality - friendly, entertaining, an so very helpful.Actividades cerca de mi ubicación: You are in the heart of Old San Juan *PERFECT LOCATION* All of the primary historic sites are within a short walk. Do your homework and in a couple of days you can easily visit all of the primary and secondary historic sites while dining in some way of the best cafe's or restaurante's. The food in Old San Juan is absolutely wonderful.Seguridad: The policia are on almost every corner wearing a contagious smile and are not only protective but also very helpful.Posibilidad de caminar: 90‰ walkable - any very easy walks. The blue brick streets are narrow so walking for a visitor is the best plan. The only place that I needed a ride was to visit Castillo San Felipe del Morro and Bateria Santa Elena.Comidas y bebidas: Excellent restaurante's line every street. Depending on your culinary wants - you will find a place with beautiful decor and excellent food. Every place I went, the service, food, and ambiance was 5 stars.

pratik sharma: Let us be honest it is hostel not a hotel. We landed 3 am in morning in San Juan in Puerto Rico to realize that our hotel can't take early checkin and there is no way you rest at airport. So miraculously we google Denizens Hotel and called and the guy picked phone @ 3:30 am. He told us rooms are available. The person was all the way in touch with us till we landed by uber here. Room was very comfortable and we had amazing sleep and were able to refresh in common bathroom. The place is super clean and owner has maximize the use of the resources it has. There is separate kitchen where you can cook stuff and have your food. Simply the best place..

Jason Radford: I had an absolutely fantastic time here! Eddy treated us like family, with care and generosity, and gave us his expertise on the best places to travel and eat every day. I felt safe at this place for seven full days and wouldn’t stay anywhere else. A community feel, incredible view, centrally located, with the most affordable rate in Old San Juan.

Diana Kessel: Cannot wait to come stay here again, even though by that point the streets are sure to be clogged with single digit brain cell toting Americans rolling off a cruise ship. Love this spot and all it represents. Thanks for everything Eddy!!

Dennis Hoang: Great place to stay in Old San Juan with a local vibe. If you want a local feel with your own bedroom, this is the place to be

Cooper Anderson: Amazing location in Old San Juan and the owner was incredibly helpful with our rental car dilemma. Highly recommend a stay here.

Rose Rickman: Lovely place, everyone is so helpful and nice.

Tammy Richardson: Muy limpio, super amable.

Qué ver, bares, restaurantes, centros comerciales, etc.

Hailey Sanderson: Great stay in a great neighborhood! Close to the beach, restaurants, bodegas, and anything else you could need. A couple blocks from a woman who sells AMAZING flan outside of her home. Tony is great and always made sure we had anything we need. The locals in the neighborhood are friendly. Enjoyed time on the balcony watching the city! Wouldn't stay anywhere else!Seguridad: Thoroughly locked and has security cameras. Good neighborhood. Safe place to stay.

Gracias Tony 🇵🇷🙂

Nic Holwerda: My girlfriend and I stayed here during our first night in San Juan after a 2am flight arrival. Upon arriving to Natural Village in the middle of the night, we were welcomed by the owner, Tony, who is a wonderfully kind human. He handed us each a cerveza and we enjoyed speaking together in a mix of Spanish/English before retiring for the night. The next morning Tony made us a light breakfast with coffee, we chatted some more and met two of his children, and then were on our way. Natural Village is close to New San Juan activities, offering a modest accommodation and a unique cultural experience.
