Valek: No trip to Rio Piedras is complete without a visit to this beloved ice cream shop. With over a decade of operation, it offers creative flavors like ginger, corn, and morir soñando. My go-to combinations are peanut and almond or soursop and lemon. Despite the frequent lines, especially on hot summer days, service is efficient. However, the lack of seating is a bit disappointing. The shop accepts only cash and ATH, with no credit cards or ATH Móvil options. As with most of Rio Piedras, finding parking can be a challenge.

Minh Phung: I didn't realize that this place had so many different flavors of ice cream. There were flavors that I thought never existed. They have all types of ice cream flavors that you can think of. Chocolate, cheesecake, kiwi, strawberry flavor, and etc. The ice cream here doesn't taste processed at all, which is really nice. There are an adequate amount of toppings that you can put on your ice cream for more flavor.

F Johnson: This small, bright colored ice cream shop had great popcicle flavor options and combinations. You can even build your own, and toppings are free. I had the cheesecake, which had a slice of cheesecake in the middle. It was amazing! I will definitely go back since there were so many other flavors I wanted to try. Check this place out if you are an ice cream lover like me!

Mirta Vazquez: Rare Candy Creations was the perfect place for my family to go while we waited for our hotel rooms to be ready. The second you walk in the smells are amazing and the atmosphere is so bright and fun! Every ice cream flavor both alcoholic and non-alcoholic were delicious and the added topping was a nice bonus. The expresso martini and old fashioned were very good. We wish we had more time to return and try more of the drinks. There is one hour of free parking in a parking garage right behind the place which was a perfect amount of time.
Valek: Rare Candy Creations is a hidden gem that offers a fantastic experience for ice cream lovers. But that's not all—they also serve as a coffee shop and bar. From the moment you step inside, the charming and playful decor sets the stage for a memorable treat. The staff is warm and welcoming, and their passion for ice cream shines through in their helpful recommendations. They have an impressive variety of creative flavors, such as Turrón, Coquito, and Dulce de Leche. My favorite is the Brunella; it's smooth, creamy, and absolutely delicious. They also offer a range of tasty toppings that make your treat even more special. Their milkshakes are definitely worth a try too. They accept credit cards, and you can find parking on the street or in the lot behind the shop.

We then came back later to get rolled ice cream which looked and tasted amazing!! You get a lot of ice cream and toppings and they all blend together really well. Johny: It is a very tiny spot. It has some nice sorbet flavors additional to the traditional. There is seating inside and outside to relax while eating your ice cream, but it is very small; maybe seven people can sit down. It is more of a grab-and-go place. The decorations are nice, and the staff were friendly and offered tastings of the flavors.
