Devlyn Bodden: , was the acidity of some of the sauces. For example, the acidity in the ginger and turmeric sauce for the pastel overwhelms the flavors, and the pastel soaks up too much of it. Also, the acidity in the crudo, although expected in the dish, was too potent, making the experience of eating it a bit unpleasant. In the roasted fish
Ricardo Castro: Great food. Really creative Chef. Will visit again. Service was great too!! 4 🌟 because dessert needed help. Besides that, great!!Thanks Chef for your creativity!!! Keep representing Puerto Rico 🇵🇷.
Sebastián Rea: This place is spectacular. A restaurant with heart, soul, and purpose. The food is unique and delicious. The staff and service all made me feel like I was family. I came for the food and left with an experience. If you are in San Juan, you must check this place out. I came multiple times while I was on vacation because I wanted to try everything on the menu. And don't get me started on the drinks! Simply amazing! More restaurants should take notes about how this place does business because they could learn a thing or too. Trust me, you won't be disappointed here. Platos vegetarianos: Many vegan options
Tomás B.: and the beef stake were extremely salty
Michael Donnelly: Incredible locally sourced food, impeccably crafted drinks, and friendly service. What more could you ask for?
M- T-: I couldn’t possibly highly recommend this place enough. Must try in PR! Definitely recommend the tasting experience! The waiter with the curly mustache is so attentive and kind! I’ve brought many people here and they are always wowed by the experience. Excellent date or celebratory dinner spot! I would say maybe even consider for a Michelin star
Selin G: Absolutely delightful experience that makes you get to know Puerto Rico by food. All the food is locally sourced and every meal is explained to us by the sous chef as she was serving it. We had the wine pairing along with both the vegetarian and the omnivorous option. There were four food acts and a dessert act, each and every single one very special and well thought. The food was very simple but layered with so many textures at times. The restaurant is located in a beautiful area and has a very cozy and friendly environment. This place really enhanced our experience in Puerto Rico, must eat here!

Big Country Sound: This is the single best and most memorable eating experience I've ever had. Chef Carlos is a true artist and his small team achieved extremely impressive stuff. I was continually amazed by all aspects of the experience, and as the meal went on I realized that not only is it a culinary experience, the whole curation of everything is like a piece of performance art.Purposefully slow - where else does that happen? Slow down and think about life. You will not go hungry but you will have plenty of time to enjoy the company of your loved ones or just chat with the amazing Carlos. I was nervous to go into the kitchen at first but once he brought me in there himself the experience really opened up - incredibly welcoming, informative, and entertaining. Also had a couple of the best wines I've ever had, I would absolutely urge you to go for the wine pairing as well.A cannot-miss experience if you're, in Carlos' words, a gastronomic traveller. I think about that night regularly and its been 4 months.
Liha Sanchez: From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we knew we were in for a unique dining adventure. This experience was nothing short of spectacular. We were treated to over 20 exquisite courses. Each dish was a masterpiece, showcasing an incredible range of techniques and local flavors. What truly elevated the experience was the chef, Carlos Portela, himself personally serving and explaining several of the courses, adding a personal touch that made the evening even more special. The wine pairing was equally exceptional. The selections perfectly complemented each course, enhancing the flavors and creating a harmonious balance.Dining at Orujo is more than just a meal; it’s an experience. The thoughtful progression of courses, the engaging atmosphere, and the seamless service come together to create a night to remember. This is a journey through culinary artistry, worthy of every accolade and deserving of its five-star reputation.
Gabriel Hernandez: For an extraordinary dining experience in Puerto Rico, Orujo, led by the talented Chef Carlos, is a hidden gem that should not be missed. This exclusive restaurant offers over 20-course that is a true testament to culinary artistry.Chef Carlos masterfully blends local ingredients with innovative techniques, crafting each course to be a memorable experience for your palate. The attention to detail, from presentation to flavor combinations, ensures that every dish tells a story and takes you on a gastronomic journey. While Orujo is on the pricier side, the value you receive is exceptional. The 20-course meal is not just dinner—it’s a culinary adventure that showcases the best of Puerto Rican cuisine in a refined and intimate setting. If you’re looking to treat yourself to an unforgettable night out, Orujo is the perfect choice.
Abi VerValin: Not just a meal but a truly exquisite dining experience! Our chefs lead us through a spectacular menu and wine tasting — the plates had such a variety of tastes and textures, and the presentation was a feast for the eyes. We appreciated the subtlety of the dishes, the fresh local ingredients, and that we were invited into the kitchen to learn how it all came together. The setting is intimate which enhanced the meal and it was interesting to hear about a variety of wines as well. Thank you to the chefs!
Eliza Hecht: . No te arrepentirás.
Pedro: Experiencia unica. Worth every penny. El chef es un genio.

Linda Norton “Goddess Linda”: What an amazing dining experience. Food, staff, atmosphere. Book the reservations. Was recommended by a friend and so grateful we went while visiting the island.Wear comfortable shoes if sitting outside the patio is all small stones, so it makes walking in heels inconvenient.
Alvin Almodovar: As always we were received at the door with warmth welcome. Our waitress was Xavier. To begin, we ordered 2 of the amazing cocktails they have; Cayey a Santurce and Torito y plata. We started with lamb chops with roasted eggplant and yogurt. Amazing! and Yes! This is just an entree. As we previously get the Terrina de remolacha with goat cheese we didn’t order it but is a strong recommendation even for the ones don’t like beets. My wife ordered the fried fish of the day with a caper cream with an amazing fusion of turmeric and anise. Wow, I never thought those flavors are so delicious! I ordered a cazuela of langostinos with swordfish filet in a carrot stew with the house rice that was awesome and I added a touch of the house hot sauce they gave me.To end we can’t decide which dessert we want so we get two, the quesito with passion fruit ice cream and the almond cake with dulce de leche and goat cheese ice cream. We get also 2 more cocktails 😋.Spectacular service.Well deserved award recognition! I think they deserve a Michelin star.
pcarruth2: Stop what you are doing and go here right now!Just look at the pics. That red snapper...yes please! The malanga croquettes? Give me 100 of those. Fish stew? Ladle it into my mouth.Service was perfection and the interior was nice and cool. This was the fifth restaurant we dined at this year that was nominated for 'best chef' in the 2023 James Beard awards. In comparison to the other four, I'm not surprised Chef Natalia Vallejo took home the award for Best Chef South!!
Delaney Russell: If you’re looking for a special experience in San Juan, look no further. Cocina al Fondo was a beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous courtyard. Every staff member was so friendly and the manager came around multiple times to check on us. The food was delicious and unique and the cocktails were great as well. We were celebrating an anniversary and they made the night so special for us and it was easily our best dinner during our 10 day trip to PR.

Sheela Satpute: Perfect spot for a special occasion. Beautiful ambiance and lighting. The service was definitely very kind and accommodating, however would have liked to have each course explained as it was delivered. I felt that it’s possible I got the wrong dessert - it tasted like lemon custard and not the Panna cotta I had ordered. For this price point, I don’t think this is acceptable. The servers tried their hardest to overcome these issues by giving us extra sweets etc. 2 huge high points: the old fashioned cocktail was the best I have ever had. Pasta tasted very fresh and cooked perfectly. Otherwise, I can’t say that the dishes were consistently amazing. Nothing that I would look back on fondly aside from my cocktail.

John Jagneaux: ¡Wow solo wow!

Jessica Johnson: . The drinks are fantastic, especially the options to make a certain flavor profile into a martini, mule or mojito; I got one of each and would definitely go back for more. The mushroom toast was my favorite, the arugula salad was a very close second place, both I would love to eat again! We shared the Korean fried chicken entree, recommended by our friend, and it was delicious, my husband loved it.

J M: . I didn't have a reservation and was seated immediately. The risotto was absolutely delicious, as was the pumpkin soup. I honestly felt transported back to Venice, Italy with the simple yet elegant decor. Two thumbs up, treat yourself to a delicious meal and enjoy the top-notch treatment from the fabulous servers!

Julia Ong: Excellent services. I got a foot scrub and gel mani pedi.
Kate B: . However even other patrons were nice enough, offering us seats. We recommend!
J J (RC Jewels): Our 1st night we had service with Carolina. She was so friendly and service oriented, her drinks were on point! We went back on the 2nd night and we got served by some girl with red hair that seem to be annoyed everytime we asked for anything. She made me a drink that was just juice which I told her and she made a face like I said something wrong. Our food took longer than 30 minutes to get to our table, we had to ask someone to check on it, which she bought over half our order. The original waitress drop our order on the table and walked away. Now we know who to go to if we go again. The food was delicious, especially the chicharron de pollo, and at an awesome price, and large portions
Aydin Rivera: Great drinks, fun people around and good service. It's like going out with a whole family.Adecuado para niños: Everyone was very kind and service was great.
Janitza Rosa: Me encanto el lugar buen trato
