Convenient location.The owner, Juan Carlos, and my instructor, Leu, were AWESOME!I've had classes before with great teachers, but I always had trouble hearing them. With 15 Knots, the instructor was able to give me immediate feedback while I was riding because we had a water proof walkie talkies!!My stance was off before and my knee would start hurting after only 1 hour, but with Leu I rode 2 hours and didn't feel any pain! I could have kept going for another 1-2 hours.
Tynan CR: , we learned a ton and were able to get up on the board for a bit at the end of the lesson.If you are worried about low-wind conditions, don’t worry, you will be contacted the morning of the lesson if winds aren’t good, and Leu was willing to postpone the lesson for two hours until the wind picked up. He even offered a refund if the wind conditions remained bad. Fortunately, the conditions improved as soon as we hit the water!

Jason: I have rented from a number of schools, and I have to say this was the most helpful and easiest experience of them all! Isla Verde is an ideal place to kite with a reef protected cove that has a massive amount of space so you never feel crowded. Juan and Dagmar give sage advice on the area but also technical improvement. They also have jet ski support.

Phil Scalise: My experience with 15 Knots was incredible. I had been wanting to get into Kiteboarding for some time now. Since I was on vacation in PR, what better time? My instructor was Dagmar and she honestly couldn't have been any greater. Not only a well educated and experienced kiteboarder, but Dagmar has such an amazing personality that made learning fun, easy, and effortless. In addition, the male instructors who were there were also great people and I quickly felt that I had made new friends doing something we all enjoyed. What an amazing experience. Kiting may look as easy as holding onto a string but with the proper training, you can truly make the kite dance in the sky and that is exactly what you will learn with 15 Knots! I only was able to be trained on control of the kite and hoped to actually start surfing but my lesson was booked for only 2 hours and I did not have time to get that far but will surely move forward with surfing next time. Thanks again Dagmar!

Kevin Hargis: Everything here was great. The back building is a little hard to find at first not still decently easy. No frills but the apartment was clean, spacious and up to date. The host was very communicative and proactive. Decently priced for the area. Within walking distance of the convention center and T Mobile area. Safe and secure area. I will stay here again and am recommending to a friend who will be there in October.

John Rosario: I want to explain why there is so many different opinions of this building, the original owner sold many apartments to private people and he keeped many to himself, the private owners have really nice places to offer on airb&b and other rental apps, the original owner who keeps over 50 apartments for rent, doesn't give the tender loving care his apartments need, they are been furnished with old furniture from older hotels that sold old stuff, the staff working with this properties are a shame of what they are offering, if you are looking for a place to stay near the convention Center and affordable, this is the place but make sure is a private owner for a better experience, you can find my place on airbnb as Convention Center Suite View, probably a few dollars more but a beautiful, clean and beautiful view, I hope this is helpful to whoever reads this with the intention of staying near this area.

Melody Dunn: I would love to stay here again. Worth the walk up to the top of the stairs. Our suite had two rooms with queen beds when you walked in plus a bathroom and full kitchen. Then you walked out to the center balcony and there were two more rooms with queen beds and a bathroom. Beds were super comfortable. Our power went out while we were there because someone set fire to a power substation. Luckily we had reservations to a restaurant that had a generator. And we had our own head lamps and played cards against humanity in the dark when we got back. Power came back on at midnight. Also didn't have any problem taking a hot shower.
LYVICK PEREZ: , and a spacious loft upstairs. The ceilings had wood beams it was so nice! We did have a problem checking in so MAKE sure you call ahead and make sure your reservation is there. We had to wait outside until they got everything cleared up! They were very polite and professional but it was a mess! Finally we had our room!

Charlotte Fletcher: We were traveling for our anniversary in December 2018. We were excited about visiting San Juan but a bit skeptical because we had never been there. We researched and decided to give Old San Juan Rentals a try. From the moment we booked our room until after we left, it was the BEST experience! Our contact person was extremely responsive, she left detailed instructions, I needed additional assistance and the owner made things happen for me instantly, our room was VERY clean, and after we checked out to go on our cruise, the owner extended additional assistance that would help make our entire experience better, when she didn't have to. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! Best kept secret in San Juan. Peace and Blessings to the great people @ San Juan Rentals! We will see you again! From The Fletchers!

Marta Barron: clean room, had everything we needed, quiet for the most part, great location, there's a nice common area on the floor we were on, there is no elevator and no front desk, we had an issue with the ac it was too cold and there's no regulation so we contacted the owner and got it figured out immediately, also we got fresh towels the next day, and we asked for new ones the day after and we were granted our wish, would recommend
quincy davis: The location was great! This was our 3rd trip to San Juan, and we prefer staying in Old San Juan. The room was smaller than expected, but we didn't spend a lot of time there because we were enjoying the beach, historical sites, shopping, food, and drinks. Everything was very clean and secure. We would love to stay at Navona Studios in the future.

O K: Debo advertir a aquellos que eligen habitaciones con balcón: son bastante ruidosas. En Europa normalmente se consiguen puertas y ventanas de calidad que bloquean el sonido, pero esto no es Europa. Ventanas de un solo panel, huecos, básicamente tienes una calle al lado. Y esa es una calle muy transitada. Escuchas a la gente hablando, la música del auto, el chirrido de la suspensión, alguna persona gritando desde la mañana hasta el día, la construcción de al lado usando una pistola de clavos. Tampoco hay servicio de habitaciones.Posibilidad de caminar: Gran cantidad de cafeterías y restaurantes alrededor.

Visita el Supermax para disfrutar de una botella de vino y bocadillos. En este lugar estás solo para el servicio de habitaciones. Para adultos que buscan encanto y tranquilidad, este es el lugar. Los estadounidenses que se quejan de las pequeñas cosas subirán el precio de necesitar un mayordomo para cada pequeño llanto.Seguridad: La entrada principal y cada piso tienen su propia puerta cerrada con llave.

Como mencioné anteriormente, creo que es esencial que los hoteles tengan cerraduras para la seguridad de los huéspedes y este hotel no las tenía. Además, las habitaciones no se cierran automáticamente cada vez que usted sale; debe girar la pequeña cerradura en la manija cada vez o su habitación quedará completamente desbloqueada.Posibilidad de caminar: Increíblemente transitable con muchos restaurantes, tiendas y actividades muy cerca. Hay un supermercado y una farmacia al final de la calle, la Catedral Basílica Menor de San Juan Bautista a 5 minutos, con el Museo de las Américas y el Castillo San Felipe del Morro un poco más allá. Definitivamente el punto de venta de este hotel y la razón para reservar aquí.

Quinton B. Butterfield: My first stay here was marvelous. From check-in to check-out I had a great time. All the people that worked there were inviting, friendly and hospitable. The room was very comfortable and the food was great. The hot tub and pool was very relaxing. The other guests were also great and I am happy to have met them. I am counting the days till I return.
Anish D: One of the most relaxed hotels we have had the pleasure to stay. Rob and the staff are friendly and accommodating. The breakfast and brunch are delicious and made fresh everyday. Our room was well furnished with a comfortable bed and a small kitchenette.Only note: the Tiano room is right off the pool so can be noisy when people are hanging out. If you need quiet to sleep, you should reserve another room. However, if you want to be in the center of the action, this is room you want.
Jaci: celebrating our honeymoon, it was important for us to find a safe space for our first time in San Juan. Coqui Del Mar was the BEST part of our trip, and we even tried to move our flight just to stay longer! From the wonderfully hospitable service we received from Rob, to Juan and Izzy making sure we were having a great stay, to other guests offering their support and friendship, we felt like we belonged! Coquito the dog made everything that much better. From the phenomenal breakfast to the pool and hot tub to the beautiful aesthetics and views, we will absolutely be back soon! Thank you for making a queer safe haven not just for gay men for other folks in the community too!

James Banks: What an amazing way to enjoy Puerto Rico, whether you’re there for 2 nights or 2 weeks- coqui de mar is a perfect location in a peaceful neighborhood steps from a stunning aquamarine beach and a short Uber or bike ride to so many restaurants and bars. The owners and staff create the most welcoming atmosphere. Music selection by the pool was perfect. Breakfast, brunch and poolside bbq were amazing, Great tasting coffee with a fridge full of different creamer options, they made accommodations for guests who didn’t eat meat and included local favorites in the dishes. The staff was super attentive, keeping all the areas spotless and offering to refresh our towels and tidy the room whenever we needed. The whole place really had a feeling of being home away from home, every guest felt comfortable being themself and making whatever they want of their visit. The recommendations for local lgbt activities made it easy to jump into the local scene and the gay tours that are affiliated with the hotel offered a great balance of exploring the city and nature. Coqui is a fun place to stay in San Juan.
Mark M: as we sail to Aruba, Curaçao, Martinique & St. Kitts! Stayed the last two nights at this awesome gay clothing optional guesthouse Coqui Del Mar, owned & hosted by the greatest guys Rob & V! It offers 10 rooms ranging from a one bedroom with full kitchen, and smaller hotel sized rooms, all super clean with quirky names and lots of charm! There’s even a great resident dog Coquito that welcomed each guest upon arrival! Coqui Del Mar offers a range of activities throughout the week like naked bbq’s and naked hot tub & pool parties, daily breakfasts and weekend brunches are included!! 20-25 friendly guys staying here before the cruise. If you ever get a chance to go to San Juan, I highly recommend these accommodations! Why stay in a boring hotel when you can be treated like you’re a member of the family!

Every suggestion they gave me that I went to was phenomenal. Plenty of authentic Puerto Rican cuisine nearby, all with excellent food. The tours offered by Antionio were amazing. The entire experience was spot on. I look forward to returning to Coqui del Mar in the very near futures.

Monty Hall: ¡¡Esto está en una ubicación EXCELENTE en el Viejo San Juan!! Caminando a todo lo que esta zona tiene para ofrecer. El lugar es hermoso con entrada muy segura y entrada a la habitación... hablando de habitaciones, eso es lo que obtienes, una habitación. Era similar al dormitorio de una casa. Se puede oír a la gente en el pasillo y a otras personas en otras habitaciones al otro lado del pasillo. Esto podría deberse a que mi habitación está justo en la planta baja y en el pasillo principal junto a la entrada jajaja. No nos molestó porque somos noctámbulos y madrugadores, pero pude ver cómo podría molestar a algunos. Ciertas habitaciones como la que yo tenía NO serían para una familia, pero hay suites en el piso de arriba. Me encantaron las áreas comunes con una pequeña cocina, máquina expendedora, café y un cómodo ambiente tropical en el interior. Debo decir que la ubicación de este hotel compensa cualquier inconveniente de querer explorar el Viejo San Juan. El costo mínimo para llegar a Condado Beach, o a los clubes nocturnos La Placita y otros restaurantes en New San Juan costaba entre $ 6 y 7 por trayecto, cada vez, ¡y aproximadamente 13 minutos! Así que fui al "centro", a la ciudad alegre que suele ser por las noches y me relajé durante los días disfrutando de la belleza y la cultura del Viejo San Juan. Definitivamente recomendaría Fortaleza Suites para parejas como nosotros. ¡DEBES ir al Hotel Casablanca justo al otro lado de la calle para desayunar!Seguridad: Tiene una puerta con cerradura automática a las 4 p.m. con códigos individuales para ingresar desde la calle, hay una peluquería adjunta a la recepción, que luego hay otra puerta con cerradura automática con entrada con llave antes de ingresar a los pasillos del hotel. Cada habitación tiene una caja de seguridad en la que se encuentra su llave con códigos individuales, luego tiene la llave de su habitación. Extra seguro jajaja

There is a lovely sitting area that is super comfortable and pleasant. The hotel is clean and there is someone at reception 24 hours a day. Vincent L.: Got the private double room on the ground floor for a two night stay in San Juan. There's a bed, there's a WORKING air conditioner, there's a toilet, sink and shower. Not glamorous, but clean and it's half the price of the cheapest hotel. Besides, all rooms look the same when your eyes are closed, right?Great location, far enough from the tourist hubs to have reasonable prices, but close enough to walk, cheap Uber, or scooter-share to any of the neat stuff you're actually here to visit.PS. No bugs of any kind observed, but c'mon, anyone who's lived in Fla. or south Ga. knows roaches are a fact of life in the tropics. Get over yourself!PPS The hostel is not haunted. Sam: was very helpful and amazing, and I believe its owned by her and her parter,, BIPOC businesses FTW, nome of that american corporations and gentrification,, and the room we shared was comfortable, with light sheets and towels provided for every bed. The man upstairs from us was arrested by the FBI in front of me, and it was really scary, but I dont blame the hostel people for that. Stay here, and leave a nice tip, these people deserve it.
Sherif Azmy: The hostel is located in a very nice neighborhood with a lot of food places and cafes around. There is a bar right across the street which has good drinks and vibes. The staff is absolutely amazing and extremely helpful and friendly, with a lot of good recommendations of things to do and places to go. It is a very social hostel, I travelled solo and I met so many great people and made amazing memories. The hostel also organizes outings every night almost to get you to explore the city and bond with the other people staying in the hostel. Great vibes all across the board
Emily Adams: I had a wonderful experience at this hostel! The rooms have their own bathroom, the staff are excellent, there is a very nice rooftop hangout area with hammocks and a great view, and it’s super social! I hadn’t even finished checking in when a group walked by and asked if I wanted to go to dinner with them and I made friends with every person staying there at the same time as me. They also organize activities and tours such as trips to el yunque and salsa dance lessons. Truly a great safe and fun way to experience San Juan.Actividades cerca de mi ubicación: Within walking distance of a beach and the food park, a short drive from many beaches, guided tours, and night life options such as old San Juan and district t mobile.Seguridad: Felt completely very safe walking around, because there is a bar on the street there are always lots of people around until late in the night so if you’re alone you don’t have to worry about walking alone. Additionally since it’s a very social hostel many people will be willing to go somewhere with you so you don’t have to go alone. I felt safe walking the nearby streets alone.Posibilidad de caminar: Easy to identify for Ubers. Within walking distance of multiple restaurants, the fruit market, a beach, and a gas station.Detalles destacados: The staff are so friendly and inviting and want to help you whether that be with making you more comfortable or offering activity/restaurant ideas. Tasha welcomed me right away and made me feel at home, checked in on me throughout the week, and even hung out with us and showed us cool spots around.

They do this in part by offering unlimited free drinks to anyone playing. It should be noted if you play blackjack the style is non traditional in terms of the way the dealer deals out the cards

Mary Williams: I honestly don't know where to start. This was an amazing adventure from the very start. I found this hotel on Booking. com, however, I decided to call and book directly with the hotel. That was the best decision I could have made. Ms Valeria was very professional and accommodating. She patiently walked me through the process, answering all my questions in a timely manner. Our family booked all seven rooms, it was like our own private compound. The rooms layout & furnishings were just like depicted in the pictures. The plunge pool was perfect for our toddlers.Ms. Valeria was very accommodating to our early arrival time, as well as being accommodating when we learned that some of our flights were delayed much later than our check out times. Although Ms Valeria wasn't on sight during our visit & delayed departure, she made sure her assistant Javier took care of us. He was very kind & considerate, even patiently listening as we vented about our four hour flight delay. The location was less than a five minute walk to the beach, as well as being walkable to coffee shops, restaurants, bars and Walgreens. The Donostia restaurant located on the property served delicious food as well. It's definitely a place I would return to. I highly recommend, Breeze Point at Ocean. If you want a personal touch book with the hotel directly. Bring the whole family.

J F (General Nuisance): Great place to stay! We had a 1 BR apartment with a pull-out for the 3 of us.Things to note, there was bulk soap, conditioner, and body wash in the shower. We had plenty of hot water. The water pressure varies based on who else is using hot water in the unit it seems, but it was never an issue for us.There were 2 washcloths and 5 bath towels to use. It would be nice to get fresh washcloths during our week stay, but we never asked for more.There were plenty of pillows for all of us. There were no extra blankets, not that they were needed.There is a towel drying rack in the kitchen, which was a HUGE blessing to dry towels and swim clothes overnight! This helped our stay be better than other tropical vacations.Our listing said it had a coffee machine/coffee maker. It had a small Turkish coffee pot, to use on the stove. It made good coffee. I did see a different rental had a regular automatic coffee maker machine.There were two free coffee coupons to use at Donostia downstairs, but we never ended up going there due to our plans and the restaurant hours not aligning. The menu prices seemed a bit high but the special menu set outside in the morning appeared to have special prices.The pool is nice. We maximized the pool in the afternoon before the sunlight no longer hit the pool area.The sundeck is a green turf carpeting with various deck chairs. It did get a good breeze and alot of sun.The one time I tried to use the Roku TV, it said it couldn't detect the network and to check the network connection. I didn't have the desire to troubleshoot but I would have watched a little TV at the end of a long day.Overall a very comfortable stay! Note, there are various rooms/condos in the unit so the photos may not be exactly what you are booking.
