We came here after learning (with about 12 hours notice) that our cruise was canceled. We had been staying for a couple of days at an Airbnb but they had other guests already booked. We can’t say enough about the friendliness and kindness of the front desk staff. They saw our disappointment in our cruise being canceled, and while on the phone trying to change our flights they brought us complimentary drinks. They allowed us to check in at any time the next day. We walked over before the normal check in, gave us beach towels and chairs, welcome drinks, and we enjoyed the beach until our room was ready. Roma, Gabriel, (and I wish I could remember the name of the 3rd person) that really went out of their way to accommodate us and were just such a pleasure to work with.

“My fiancé and I booked a last minute stay at the Trópica Beach Hotel in early March. Neither of us were familiar with the property, but excellent online reviews and reasonable rates drew our attention. From the moment we arrived, the staff provided individualized attention and excellent service. Minutes away from the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, this boutique hotel provided us with a modestly sized but beautiful and modern room. The room had a very comfortable bed, desk, tv and a large balcony overlooking their beautiful and nature-covered courtyard. The on-site restaurant, Dulce Salado, served great food, and has an attached gourmet coffee shop with excellent lattes and pastries. Trópica also provides complimentary coffee and tea at all hours of the day. The beach is a quick one block walk away, and the hotel provides complimentary beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas. Old San Juan is an easy Uber ride away for more dining options, nightlife and historic sites. We’ll definitely be back to this hidden gem!”

The hotel experience at Tropica Beach Hotel was amazing! The rooms were very nice, clean, and spacious. The food and drinks were great, and the individuals who work at the hotel truly have wonderful customer service skills. Angel, in particular, deserves some extra acknowledgment for going above and beyond! I would highly recommend this hotel.

Cannot say enough great things about this place. The room was perfect, the burger at the onsite restaurant was one of the best I’ve ever had, and most importantly- the staff! Roma was beyond amazing. She was so accommodating, warm and friendly. I cannot remember the other 2 guy front desk attendants’ name, but they were fabulous too. They provided the best recommendations for food, nightlife, etc. Always had a smile on their face, even when dealing with obnoxious patrons. I would definitely stay here again. Only con is the pool. It is extremely small. Probably should make it a jacuzzi since it can seat 5-6 people comfortably.

Never in all my travels have I encountered a lodging at such odds with itself. It was at once the most hospitable, filthy, flexible, overpriced, grotesque, and charming place I have ever stayed. If you're in a pinch, this is the place to go. The owner generously gave us a place to stay in the dead when all others forsook us. My only warning is to avoid the groundskeeper who lives on-premise - he was a peculiar and chatty man I hope never to encounter again.

Honestly if we had reservations at the Hilton I would have canceled them to stay here. It is an absolutely gorgeous place to stay. The mattresses are amazing! The cleanliness is amazing. The staff are amazing. They have a little man named Napoleon aka the puppy who makes your stay even more enjoyable. He accommodates everything and make sure that you are taken care of. I would recommend this place more than any hotel. The security is phenomenal
