D Harvin: Great place for photos at night!!

LoNGsHoTTv: Plazuela La Rogativa in Old San Juan is a must-visit for its historical significance and stunning views. The Rogativa monument is striking and commemorates an important moment in Puerto Rican history. The plaza's location offers breathtaking views of San Juan Bay, especially at sunset, and the surrounding cobblestone streets and colonial buildings add to its charm. It's a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the serene atmosphere. Highly recommended for history buffs, photography enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a peaceful, scenic experience.

joelasker: La Rogativa was sculpted by Lindsay Daen of New Zealand. It is made of bronze. It was completed in 1971. Rogativa is a large procession of people making a plea to God for help. Based on a true event, when the British took control of the city by naval blockade, the procession of women and the bishop was mistakenly taken for reinforcement.

Jose R Lopez: This small but hidden park is something many miss and don't even know the history behind this sculpture. The views are breathtaking when you make a stop here. Right up the block you can purchase a local treat called "Limbers or Piragua." They are icy treats, buy some and sit back and enjoy the scenic views. You also have a view of Puerta de San Juan. One of two main entrance to enter the city walls. Also a beautiful views of the bay. Plus Casa Blanca is also near for a tour. The following information below is from the internet and I don't take credit for it. My reason on sharing is to give information about this location. Pictures are my very own plus I added more information as well. The pictures are of the area close by.La Rogativa is a famous bronze statue located in the Plazuela de la Rogativa on Caleta de las Monjas near La Puerta de San Juan. Rogativa is a Spanish word derived from the verb "rogar" meaning to plea or to supplicate. A Rogativa is a large procession of people making a plea to God for His help.British troups, led by Sir Abercrombie, took control of the city by naval blockade on April 30, 1797. The desperate governor of San Juan ordered a "rogativa."  The women, led by the bishop, marched through the streets that night. They started at the Cathedral. They sang hymns, carried torches and bells, and prayed for their city’s deliverance. The British mistook the sights and sounds as evidence of the arrival of reinforcements. Considering themselves to be outnumbered, Abercrombie’s fleet abandoned the city promptly. There are four bronze statues commemorating this event in Plazuela de la Rogativa. This group of statues pays tribute to the efforts of the townspeople and their Bishop.Lindsay Daen of New Zealand completed the statue in 1971. It stands 12-feet high in front of an old sentry box and a beautiful view of San Juan Bay. Popular belief is Rogativa marks the birth of "puertorriqueñismo," or local patriotism because it was the first time local civilian islanders fought for their island. The artist apparently buried toys under the statue after his child died at an early age.If you enjoyed the review, hit like as well.

Che Güi: The place I visited in old San Juan was an absolute gem for photography enthusiasts. It boasted a stunning landscape, providing picturesque views overlooking the magnificent San Juan harbor. However, what truly caught my attention was the somewhat creepy yet intriguing statue of religious figures that stood tall amidst the breathtaking scenery. As I stood there, gazing at the panoramic vista, I couldn't help but imagine myself transported back to the 1500s. It was as if I had stepped into history, envisioning the brave souls who once stood on this very spot, diligently watching for British ships approaching the harbor, ready to defend their land against cannonball onslaughts. The sense of history and the stories that must have unfolded in this very place sent shivers down my spine.Located in close proximity to the San Juan gate and the Fortaleza, this place proved to be an essential stop for anyone exploring old San Juan. The architectural marvel that stood before me had defied the test of time, captivating my senses with its mesmerizing design, solid construction, and visionary execution from centuries ago. It was a testament to the remarkable ingenuity and craftsmanship of the past, leaving me in awe of the human spirit.Regrettably, time constraints limited my ability to thoroughly explore this enchanting place. Nevertheless, I strongly urge future visitors to plan their itinerary with ample time to at least walk through the old gate. It promises to be an immersive experience that transports you back in time, immersing you in the rich history and captivating charm of Puerto Rico.Even if it requires renting a car, the effort, time, and money invested in reaching this remarkable location are undoubtedly worthwhile. The memories and photographs captured here will serve as a tangible reminder of an extraordinary journey through time, encapsulating the essence of Puerto Rico's vibrant past and captivating beauty. This place is truly a must-visit during your stay on the island, leaving an indelible mark on your heart and soul

J.C. Starkey: Very nice statue near the cat park. Great shade and a nice view of the ocean.

Alexander Yan: Nice!

Paul Hopkins: Beautiful view!

Harrison Logan: El Morro was a fantastic visit. The informational boards around the fort did a great job of telling the history starting with the Spanish through the Spanish American war and into the current day. Because this is such an old site, it does not have the modern conveniences that buildings have today like elevators and normal size stairs and inclines, so be prepared for that. It also is all outside, so be prepared for hot and/or rainy weather. The sights from the fort are beautiful, giving a great vantage point to see the san juan harbor and old san juan. Totally worth a visit!

They do this in part by offering unlimited free drinks to anyone playing. It should be noted if you play blackjack the style is non traditional in terms of the way the dealer deals out the cards

Andrea Leo: and explore old San Juan on foot or hop in an Uber to head to nearby beaches. The only potential downside

Kim Delgado: Just the most beautiful place I have ever stayed at. I’m looking at my photos a year later and still unbelievable ! The pool was empty when I went and so peaceful. Every inch of the space is rich in character and just feels magical. I loved wandering around, looking at the art and watching the sunset from the rooftop. Great location in central San Juan close to all of the main sights. The staff was also very nice. I was also surprised at how affordable it was so such a beautiful place!Only thing I will note is to be careful when it rains since it’s partially outdoors, the floors can get slippery. I ended up slipping and falling on my way back to my room one morning, but the staff was sooo kind, apologetic and attentive to me making sure I was alright. They had someone come right away to make sure it was dry.I stayed by myself and felt so at home here, would absolutely stay again!

David Ski: . While my wife and I did not actually go to the area during the evening or the day we HEARD IT.Starting from 6:00 p.m. until music subsided at 6:00 a.m. the next morning, the constant irritating sound left us tossing and turning all night.Sleeping for those days that we were there was a nightmare because the music wasn't a tranquil melody, but instead, it was drums, saxophones and overall loud music.Would I stay at this place again, knowing what I know now.... I don't think I would do it again. Is it worth while to see it one time? Yes I think it is. Will you dislike the fact that as soon as 6:00 p.m. comes along and you hear music that won't stop until the next day? That, my friends, is a certainty.Ps: I will be adding pictures in the near future to illustrate the uniqueness and visible history of this property along with the parrots that are located on site.Pss: If you are indeed a heavy sleeper, then absolutely reserve this hotel! It is such a memorable experience that a person will not be disappointed! It seems like every place you look there's something new to discover.

Kiara Alfonseca: I will be recommending this place to anyone visiting San Juan. It's got its quirks -- exotic birds roaming the grounds during the day, a private rooftop for hotel guests, a beautiful courtyard for sitting and grand but cozy kitchen area for eating and reading. It felt like a magnificent and beautiful home away from home. It is so close to the best restaurants and historic sites in the old city but also a short cheap drive away from incredible beaches and other destinations. If you're used to resorts and high end luxury, this isn't for you. My only warning: you likely have to walk through outdoor areas to get to your room so be aware of slipping / water when you're walking around. It also is not very accessible for people with mobility issues. Other than that, please stay here. It's locally owned and newly adored by me and my partner.

AJ J: Excellent location! This local hotel has a lot of character. The rooms are all unique and contain a lot of art. Lots of pianos. Air conditioning in the rooms and lots of shade in the courtyards. I recommend this place for people who like the quirky and unique, but I wouldn't recommend it for people with any sort of mobility issues or for someone with a young toddler - the place is old so many uneven surfaces, steps, and issues with leaky sections of roofing that could become slipping hazards. And of course lots of objects and statues around that would be hard to keep a toddler from grabbing. I like the place, but rated a 4 instead of 5 because of the water dripping from the ceiling onto the floor into the hallway making it slick and also because my ceiling in my room sprung a leak when it rained. I couldn't be moved until the next day because no other available rooms, but I also noticed stains on the floor when I first arrived that suggested water in the room was an ongoing issue. Despite this, I appreciated the character of the place.

Kathleen Moss: Amazing Inn, I would never stay anywhere else in San Juan. We stayed in a King room, the mattress and linens felt like we were sleeping on a cloud. We were blown away by the elegance of our room and the entire property. Service was great, Sam was warm and helpful. This place is a breath of fresh air, there's no other hotel or inn like it anywhere in the world. Such a rare gem on this beautiful island.

BEAUTIFUL AND VERY CLEAN.Posibilidad de caminar: Great location, stores were very near by or a short walk.Comidas y bebidas: No matter where we ventured, my daughter found herself back at Tacos and Tequila 🤣

Jeff Ramsey: I looked at many Google reviews before our visit. I would like to say thanks for all your help. We met up with friends at Condado Vanderbilt to celebrate our birthdays. Let me say booking thru my AMEX Platinum card was a great deal. Breakfast buffet for two daily. Ends around 11 am daily. The value alone for the buffet for two was $100.00. Plus we were able to check in at Noon, if available. We couldn't as our room wasn't ready. Late check out at 4pm. Plust $125.00 resort credit to use for food or drink. We had a Commodore Ocean Front suite which was very nice. Two balconies. PLUS, we had our own butler. Enma, our butler was FANTASTIC!! He emailed me a few days before our trip letting us know he would be our butler and asked if we needed any help. I asked for him to help us arrange ground transportation to and from airport. NOTE, BAHIA Transportation was nice, etc. but was expensive. $110.00 to the Hotel which was about a 15 min ride. Our driver did not lift one finger to help me with my luggage, which we had two large suitcases and two carry ons. I pulled my back the day before so this wasn't good. I asked Enma after arriving to cancel our ride back and got an UBER Black to take us back at the cost of $24.00. Would recommend UBER Black for transportation. Anyway, back to hotel. The staff was so GREAT!! I mean best staff anywhere we have stayed. We have stayed at many fine hotels, Ritz, Intercontinental, Willard in DC,etc. They didn't have no in their vocabulary. When we celebrated my birthday on a Saturday, my wife reached out to Enma, our butler for help. He set up the room while we were at the pool with a bday cake, balloons, plates for charcuterie board my wife wanted to prepare, 8 champagne glasses, as well as a bottle of champagne on ice!!! I didn't see any charge either on my bill for all this. My wife wanted to tip him specifically for this occasion, so she found him and gave him a tip. Victor, working the entrance area of hotel was spectacular. Made sure to greet me by name every time we entered or left hotel. Paiulo, hostess in buffet was so great in making sure we got what we needed in the restaurant where the buffet was. Amid made spectacular omelets for us at the omelet station. Enma, our butler was very instrumental in checking in during our stay seeing how were were doing via text. Like having your own assistant. He was very helpful giving us ideas on restaurants of what we were looking for, then he would call and make our reservations for us and confirm back to me time, etc. Ropa Vieja was one of our favorites. Tayzan, Chinese, Sushi, and PR food was not great. I would not go back. Serafina, next door to CVH was awesome as well. Great walking distance to Marriott Stellaris Casino. LaConcha Casino didn't do it for us. Highly recommend the walk to Stellaris. Also, there is a market right across the street called H & R Food and Liquors that has a quite a bit of selection of liquor/beer, as well as food items and prepared food such as sandwiches prepackaged. We had a nice sub zero smaller fridge in our room as well as a nice ice maker. Nespresso type machine that uses the pods which were provided. Alto Grando was the pods of choice. The cigar lounge was quite small as I generally sat outside to smoke a cigar once in a while. Tacos and Tequila was good as well. They gave me and my wife both a margarita on the day of my birthday. The pool drinks were awesome. Condado Express was our favorite. Medalla Beer is awesome as well. Low carb with great taste. Airport Duty Free Store sells liquor, beer, and coffee on your way out so you can take home some treasures. Alto Grande coffee was our favorite. Again, CVH was spectacular stay. We want to go back again soon. Knowing what we know now, wouldn't change a thing. Was so relaxing and again, STAFF WAS SPECTACULAR!!!

Kristian Alwill: Hotel El Convento is an absolutely can’t miss property. each space has a personality all its own from the grand courtyard to tucked away reading nooks and a breathtaking plunge pool. This property is sure to inject your trip to San Juan with a one of a kind energy. The location within old San Juan can’t be beat as you can walk easily to everything and enjoy everything the area has to offer.Rooms aren’t super grand but they were clean and updated.I wish I could give this property 5 stars but when I went to use the gym there appeared to be some flooding mixed with loose electrical wires and plugged in gym equipment. This definitely made me uneasy.

Glenda Hallerbaird: My First time to actually stay on the Island of San Juan Puerto Rico , all the other times I was on a cruise ship and didn't get a chance to enjoy the atmosphere. Hotel El Convento was top notch..I especially want to thank The Leader Josantonio Del Valle excellent Manager, his crew Candy, Lourdes, Daniel, Angel, Lucia, Jesus, Andrea, Victor and Indira. JOSEPHINE AND ALL THE Housekeepers were exceptionally cleaned. If this review was 10 you got my 10, however to me you are more than 5 stars; you all made me fall in love with San Juan Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 You were all so kind, joyful, sweet, caring, and you made a difference in my life. I appreciate you all. Please continue to be who you are in life. My name is Dr. Glenda Clark and I served in the military over 30 years in the USAF. You all gave me a beautiful human experience. I Salute Hotel El Convento because of this teamI will be back ... May God bless each one of you , may God continue to bring favor to you, may God protect you. And may God's presence be with you. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen..

Emily Morrison: We loved staying here. It had everything we needed for restful nights after busy days. Our room was clean, quiet, and felt elevated from more corporate hotels. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location couldn’t be better. It’s very close to restaurants, bar, coffee shops. The plunge pool is nice and they have a complimentary wine hour. We never ended up eating at their restaurant but it’s in a nice closed in courtyard. We’d stay here again for sure.

The Condado Plaza Hilton: what do users think?

Joyce: The location of the Condado Plaza is excellent! Check-in was super easy, and the gentleman at the front desk did an awesome job of explaining all of the hotel amenities. We had a room with an ocean view and king-size bed. The room was very clean. All of the staff that we encountered were extremely friendly and ready to assist if needed. We used the hotel taxi service to go to Walmart. The driver was super nice because he waited for us to finish. This hotel has two pools. The large pool has a slide, and the saltwater pool is located by the jacuzzi. While sitting poolside enjoying a pina colada, a huge iguana came out of the bushes and just walked around like it owned the place. It didn't bother anyone, and nobody bothered it. I thought that was pretty cool. I rated the hotel 4 stars because there were a couple of things that I noticed. The Condado is one of the older hotels and could use a little TLC. When we walked around the grounds to explore, we noticed chipping paint, rust, and erosion in several areas. One evening, while admiring the view from the balcony, I saw a rat run into the bushes by the back stairwell deck. The next evening, my friend saw a rat by the stairwell near the pool. That was a little unnerving. Other than that, we had a really good stay at this hotel.Habitaciones: I stayed in a room with an ocean view and king-size bed, which was very comfortable. The bathroom was very large with a shower/tub combination, and the room was very clean.Actividades cerca de mi ubicación: There is a night kayaking spot within walking distance of the hotel. We had a blast and even saw a manatee while out on the water.Seguridad: We did a lot of walking while we were there. Both during the day and in the evening. We felt very safe.Posibilidad de caminar: There are lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.Comidas y bebidas: The Aqua Bar and Grill is located by the pool. I ordered wings, quesadillas, and pina coladas. My friend ordered drinks from the hotel lobby bar. We were pleased with everything. The Condado also has a footbridge that connects with the Hilton Garden Inn, where there are two additional restaurants that are available for dining.

Michael Clauss: I went to a conference there. Rooms were okay and the service was good. The little beach was nice and the hotel is close enough to viejo San Juan that you can walk or take a bus/taxi to get there quickly. It's also close enough to some other nice places in the other direction like the art museum, restaurants, and stores.Habitaciones: Very humid and a little mold on stuff, but it's a tropical location so what do you expect.Actividades cerca de mi ubicación: restaurants, museums, stores, historical monuments, forts, colonial city, beaches, scenic vistas, etc.Seguridad: Relatively safe. We had no issues.Posibilidad de caminar: Far, but walkable to Viejo San Juan.Walkable to nearby restaurants, stores, pharmacies and attractions.
