The man upstairs from us was arrested by the FBI in front of me, and it was really scary, but I dont blame the hostel people for that. Stay here, and leave a nice tip, these people deserve it.

Sherif Azmy: The hostel is located in a very nice neighborhood with a lot of food places and cafes around. There is a bar right across the street which has good drinks and vibes. The staff is absolutely amazing and extremely helpful and friendly, with a lot of good recommendations of things to do and places to go. It is a very social hostel, I travelled solo and I met so many great people and made amazing memories. The hostel also organizes outings every night almost to get you to explore the city and bond with the other people staying in the hostel. Great vibes all across the board

The rooms have their own bathroom, the staff are excellent, there is a very nice rooftop hangout area with hammocks and a great view, and it’s super social! I hadn’t even finished checking in when a group walked by and asked if I wanted to go to dinner with them and I made friends with every person staying there at the same time as me. They also organize activities and tours such as trips to el yunque and salsa dance lessons. Additionally since it’s a very social hostel many people will be willing to go somewhere with you so you don’t have to go alone. Kevin Chin: Very friendly staff, great location and kept quite clean. The 16 person dorm was surprisingly easy to sleep in. Beds offer privacy, but lack charging outlets. Brought a power bank to remedy this. Plenty of other outlets throughout the hostel though. The rooftop was a great spot to get some fresh air and view of the city and the kitchen is well equipped.

Now on antibiotics for the week.Overall, I felt that my stay at the hostel was worth the $30 per day that I paid for the week. Here is a breakdown of my experience:ROOMMATES: I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and welcoming my roommates were. It made me feel at ease, especially since it was my first time sleeping in a room with 16 strangers. Room was really great a night and I found it to be pretty quiet besides people partying outside of the Hostel. However, I did find it a bit strange that there were cleaning volunteers bunking with us in the room. Ideally, I believe that volunteers should have their own separate accommodations to avoid any potential discomfort for the guests. Additionally, there was an older male cleaning volunteer who made some people uncomfortable by being overly interactive with younger girls. This behaviour definitely impacted the overall atmosphere of the space and I was hearing that this was making a few women feel uncomfortable unfortunately.AMENITIES: I was provided with a comfortable bed, complete with a blanket, pillow, and towel. Despite the open layout of the bunks, I felt that they offered a decent level of privacy. However, I did find the beds to be a bit small in length, as my feet would hang over the edge.One major inconvenience was the limited number of outlets in the room. With only three outlets shared between 16 people, it was challenging to charge devices, especially if you wanted to use them in bed. I would recommend bringing a portable charger to alleviate this issue.The bathroom situation was not ideal, as there was only one bathroom for all 16 people in the room. Although there was an additional bathroom down the hallway with two showers, two private toilets, and two sinks, it was inconvenient to have to carry all your belongings over there. In addition to this, the showers barley had hot water which sucked.The kitchen facilities were great, and I didn't have any issues apart from sharing the fridge. It was quite full, making it difficult to find space for my own items. Additionally, labeling your belongings was necessary to ensure they weren't mistakenly taken by others. Additionally, there was a leak in the kitchen ceiling, which was quite inconvenient.One major downside was the amount of mosquitoes in the hostel. There were significantly more mosquitoes inside than outside, and I ended up with over 10 mosquito bites.In terms of cleanliness, the hostel was generally well-maintained and pretty clean considering it was shared accommodations.SERVICE: Upon my arrival, I experienced difficulty in locating the Hostel and phoned the number available on the website for guidance. A gentleman answered and assured me that someone would be present at the entrance to welcome me. Unfortunately, no one arrived. I managed to enter the Hostel when a fellow guest exited to smoke. Inside, I noticed that there were no service workers available. After asking another person, eventually, the older guy, who was a volunteer cleaner provided me with a brief tour and the keys to the hostel and locker.One negative experience I had was when a fellow guest in the upper bunk left and threw his dirty towel on my bed. I found this to be extremely rude and unhygienic. Unfortunately, I had to guess which towel was mine, as I would have had to pay an additional $20 for a new one. It would have been appropriate if the hostel had changed my sheets and provided a new towel at no cost due to this inconvenience and it not being a mistake on my end.Another issue I encountered was with the key cards. They stopped working after a certain time, and since there weren't any on-site workers, it was possible to get trapped outside at late hours.AREA: The location of the hostel was amazing, as it was within walking distance to beaches, restaurants, grocery stores, and pharmacies. I felt extremely safe in the area.

Tuve una gran experiencia, los anfitriones fueron muy serviciales durante mi estadía y se aseguraron de que estuviera cómodo. Me dieron excelentes recomendaciones e incluso salí por la noche con ellos, lo cual fue muy divertido. El albergue está situado en una ubicación conveniente, con fácil acceso a restaurantes, vida nocturna y otros lugares de la playa. Los espacios habitables se mantuvieron limpios al igual que los baños. Conocí a muchos otros viajeros solitarios y tuve amigos con quienes pasar el rato durante mi estadía. Mi única queja es que realmente desearía que tuvieran un espacio común con aire acondicionado para socializar. El calor era real en Puerto Rico, por lo que muchas veces nadie quería pasar el rato en las áreas comunes y, en cambio, iban a sus habitaciones con aire acondicionado. Aparte de eso, fue una gran experiencia y definitivamente regresaré.

Jackie Rivera: Mango Mansion es una familia. Desde el principio me recibieron como miembro, los invitados y el personal me incluyeron/añadieron a sus planes y me hicieron sentir como en casa. El personal es de élite, hacen todo lo posible por usted, quieren que se sienta bienvenido, cómodo y feliz. Realmente tuve una experiencia fenomenal en Puerto Rico, todo gracias a MM, sus invitados y su hospitalidad. Recomiendo mucho este lugar, es increíble para viajeros solitarios. La playa, las tiendas, los lugares turísticos y la placita se encuentran a poca distancia. ¡Ubicación perfecta! No quería irme pero volveré. Gracias Mango Mansion por todo, siempre serás apreciado y amado.

Clarissa Ahumada: Absolutely LOVED my stay at Mango Mansion!! I’ve never been so sad to leave a hostel before, spent about 10 days and this place was truly home. I made so many friends and really felt part of a family during my stay. People come and go but friends are so easy to make here it’s very social. Location is awesome-walking distance to La Placita, beach, and grocery store. But ubers are easy and cheap anywhere too. Staff was nice and helpful, and they work so hard every day to take care of the place and everyone in it. I am a picky person when it comes to hostels and cleanliness, and it’s by far the one of the cleanest I’ve stayed at there were no issues. I will definitely be back next time I’m in PR.

Kate Jolly: I literally spent HOURS researching hostels for my trip to San Juan, let me save you the time and effort—I cannot say enough how wonderful my stay was!! The property is very clean, the staff is friendly and responsive, the location is perfect and safe, and the other visitors were great! I had an unexpectedly late check-in due to a late flight, as soon as I landed I called the office to let them know and there was no problem getting into the hostel for a late check in.This is a social hostel—lots of group outings and lots of young solo travelers. That being said, everyone was very polite and considerate of each other, especially during quiet hours. I probably made friends with 15 other visitors during my short stay. The group chat was an unexpected but very helpful benefit, everyone was always making plans to go out together and it was easy to make friends. You always felt safe in the hostel and around the neighborhood, even alone at night. It is a 15 minute walk to the beach and a two minute walk to the clubs at La Placita—the house is well built though and keeps most of the noise outside.There were also two friendly dogs and two cats on the property but they were very rarely in the house and never in the bedrooms, and it was nice to have them hanging around. Despite the presence of the animals and a decent number of visitors during my stay, the house was never dirty—bathrooms were cleaned daily and there were never dirty dishes or linens lying around in public areas and you had access to clean laundry machines; it was easy to relax at MM because of this. They are renovating at least one bathroom right now but construction did not get in the way whatsoever. Overall, I cannot recommend MM enough and I will definitely be returning for my next trip to San Juan!Habitaciones: Plenty of bathrooms, all are private rooms throughout the property! The bathrooms don’t have mirrors but those exist in the bedrooms. The bedrooms are very bright in the mornings so I recommend bringing a sleep eye mask with you. The beds are very clean and comfortable, and each bed had a wall shelf with a usb plugin phone charger.

The hosts, Eddie and Charlie, should be given an award for hospitality - friendly, entertaining, an so very helpful.Actividades cerca de mi ubicación: You are in the heart of Old San Juan *PERFECT LOCATION* All of the primary historic sites are within a short walk. Do your homework and in a couple of days you can easily visit all of the primary and secondary historic sites while dining in some way of the best cafe's or restaurante's. The food in Old San Juan is absolutely wonderful.Seguridad: The policia are on almost every corner wearing a contagious smile and are not only protective but also very helpful.Posibilidad de caminar: 90‰ walkable - any very easy walks. The blue brick streets are narrow so walking for a visitor is the best plan. The only place that I needed a ride was to visit Castillo San Felipe del Morro and Bateria Santa Elena.Comidas y bebidas: Excellent restaurante's line every street. Depending on your culinary wants - you will find a place with beautiful decor and excellent food. Every place I went, the service, food, and ambiance was 5 stars.

We landed 3 am in morning in San Juan in Puerto Rico to realize that our hotel can't take early checkin and there is no way you rest at airport. So miraculously we google Denizens Hotel and called and the guy picked phone @ 3:30 am. He told us rooms are available. The person was all the way in touch with us till we landed by uber here. Room was very comfortable and we had amazing sleep and were able to refresh in common bathroom. The place is super clean and owner has maximize the use of the resources it has. There is separate kitchen where you can cook stuff and have your food. Simply the best place..

Tienen muchas comodidades y un chat grupal para organizar actividades, las áreas comunes están limpias y los dormitorios son muy agradables. Gracias, el personal se lo pasó genial. Las vistas de la azotea son épicas.Posibilidad de caminar: Todo es transitable a pie hasta bares de comida y playas.

Cece: Excelente ubicación a poca distancia de una hermosa playa y excelentes restaurantes. Luché con el área de la cocina interior y exterior con los insectos constantes y tuve que deshacerme de algunos artículos que se infestaron. El personal hace todo lo posible por los huéspedes, especialmente David y Jordan, quienes quieren asegurarse de que todos se sientan bienvenidos y tengan una excelente estadía. Diría que me encantaría volver algún día, ¡pero no estoy seguro de si sería lo mismo sin ellos!

Alexandra Glinkina: Increíble lugar para quedarse según el precio. Personal encantador, nos ayudó con la ropa y dónde y qué ver y comer. Gente encantadora en una habitación sólo para mujeres. Me sentí seguro y sin miedo a que le robaran cosas. Excelente aire acondicionado en las habitaciones porque afuera hace mucho calor. El único inconveniente serían los baños, no todos funcionaban del todo bien, dos de cada cuatro no cerraban con llave y dos de cada cuatro solo tenían una temperatura de agua. Eso sería lo único. Aparte de eso, una estancia encantadora ya que estuvimos una semana y la gente era estupenda y propietaria del lugar.
